25.01.2022 #Contactmagazine is a good read for keeping up to date with the goings on of the ADF. It's a free online magazine, although you can order hardcopies if you prefer. (which helps keep the magazine going) Check it out. This month there's a good article about training riflemen of 7RAR in using a new miniature drone to assist with recon in urban warfare environments. Sure beats the old shaving mirror periscope used by the 9th Battalion in 1914! https://www.contactairlandandsea.com/

24.01.2022 Will you #answerthecall ? We are starting a new drill squad course in the new year. PM us for details. #9bcg #9thbattalionceremonialguard #lestweforget #drillsquad #drillteam

21.01.2022 ANZAC DAY 2020 COMMEMORATION

19.01.2022 A case of the sniffles won't stop #9thbattalionceremonialguard Given the current situation with #covid_19 #9bcg now conduct our drill training ustilising tools at anyone's disposal #skype #oldphones #webcams and whatever we can get our hands on. It's early days, but after our first attempt it went really well. We still get to meet up each week and we can keep ourselves safe with #socialdistancing ... Add to this that we could easily help with social isolation of #veterans by inviting them in to drill with us this #coronavirus thing could turn into something positive for #veteranhealth Keep safe people... #wegotthis

19.01.2022 1st training session of the new year is here. Dress: Training Location: Hervey Bay Sea Scout Hall... Date: Tuesday 21JAN20 Arrive: 1645hrs for a 1700hrs parade. Lesson: Kit Check, followed by drill instruction on performing a Right Dress. All members to bring all issued kit for inspection, and repairs if required. Brass and boots to be at parade standard. That means no coffee on your gats and the drill instructor wants to see his ugly mug reflecting back from your brass. Conclusion by 1800hrs

16.01.2022 To quote a motto used by the #usmc #improviseadaptovercome the #9thbattalionceremonialguard are taking the #covid_19 pandemic seriously. Our Prime Minister has declared that social gathering of more than 2 people has now been banned. This will not stop us from training.... #9bcg is implementing a drill training regime using modern technology to ensure we can continue training through this pandemic. This is so our veteran and civilian members can continue to interact, continue to service our community, and continue the mateship. To use the motto of our #sas #whodareswins Watch this space #forhearthsandhomes Matt Murphy President 9th Battalion Ceremonial Guard inc.

14.01.2022 Today we mark the start of the Korean war as a date of remembrance as there was never a treaty signed to mark the end. Unofficially the Korean war ended on the 27th of July 1953. 2.5 million people lost their lives from both sides. Australia and New Zealand sent 3667 troops to the Korean War... 373 Aussies and Kiwis were killed 1295 were injured 1 MIA still never found #lestweforget

13.01.2022 A couple of our members are in Perth at the moment and were given permission to visit the Z Special Unit Memorial inside HMAS Stirling. Big thanks to AB Ann Hooper for taking the time to show us the memorial. Also thankyou to CO Cpt. Ainsley Morthorpe for allowing the visit and dedication to military history.

11.01.2022 Just a reminder to the vets in #9bcg

02.01.2022 Good afternoon everyone. 9BCG is still doing ANZAC DAY!!! As everyone is aware, with the current Covid-19 crisis happening, and the need for personal distancing, ANZAC Day ceremonies are cancelled. Being a resourceful bunch, with enough information about social media and live streaming to be dangerous, we will be broadcasting our "Personal Distancing" version of an ANZAC Day Commemoration direct to our FB Page.... This will be broadcast at 0600 (or 6AM AEST) on ANZAC Day. To be a part of it just log into our FB page. Feel free to share it around, and we hope to see you there.
