25.01.2022 Hello, my name is Bonnie and I am possibly the fastest domestic cat on Earth & I am a 9 Lives Forever Foster! My small stature allows me to launch myself like a rocket, and every night I run laps around the house so that I am in tip-top condition to avoid capture, should the cat-carrier make an appearance. I have been in my forever-foster home for 5 years, and I absolutely love my furry foster siblings. I have learned a lot by watching them interact with my foster mum, and although I am still terrified of humans, I now trust my foster mum enough to accept a pat, and she is very proud of me!

23.01.2022 2 wonderful Bunnings ladies trapped the kitty dubbed Big Daddy at the Whitfords colony today! They have been setting one of our traps and letting us know when they have a kitty We have been after this boy for a while as he has fathered many kittens at this colony!! 22.01.2022 Meet Billy & Zora! PURRSONALITY Billy & Zora have flourished in their new foster home.... It took much patience and dedication from their carer Mark, but they have both turned into confident cats who are very content and wander through the house, relaxed and comfortable. Given their start to life, this is an incredible turn around for them and we'd love nothing more than to see this bonded sibling pair in a forever home of their own. Zora is still a little shy and is smaller than her brother Billy, who likes to pinch her food! But both are doing great and are very happy! The southern suburbs colony of 70+ cats that we are trying to help has several VERY pregnant females that need to be trapped and go into care ASAP. ... Fostering an undomesticated pregnant cat is not for the faint hearted. We need reliable people willing to care for the mum and work with her to get her adoptable long past her kittens being born and rehomed so long term foster is needed. She’s decided to drop two of the cats off at a vet of her choice and thinks she’s going to keep the third cat. 20.01.2022 FOSTER CARE NEEDED We were busy over Christmas trapping this couple in Hillarys who while they make lovely kittens will no longer be doing so! On the left we have the handsome Rudolph who is such a smooch! ... He just needs to work on how hard he headbutts you when giving his loves Rudolph has been sterilised, microchipped and fiv/felv tested as negative last week. He needs to have a dental which we will be booking him in for ASAP. On the right we have a little girl who is so far very scared. We got her kittens over a week ago and they are socialising very well so we don’t want to put them back together and risk them picking up her scared behaviour. She needs a name and she needs someone with love and patience to bring out her personality and get her accustomed to house kitty life. We need foster care more urgently for the little girl. Rudolph could be a foster or foster to adopt. 20.01.2022 We took this little girl in today. She was handed into a vets after being found very thin and weak. Her name is Persephone ... This little lady is at least 6 months old but is the size of a 16 week old. She’s got bad cat flu and is so painfully thin. We have started her on antibiotics and have done blood tests which we are waiting on the results of. Persephone is loving to sit on her temp carers lap and has a big purr. Her eye sight seems to be impaired so she’s being handled with care so as not to frighten her. We have a feeling it’s going to take a lot of time and medical care to get this girl healthy and her prognosis is still guarded but we are going to make sure she is comfortable and give her a chance. 20.01.2022 FINANCIAL CRISIS!! We really can’t express enough just desperate we are for funds right now - We will not be able to feed the cats in care over Christmas (or into the new year).... - Almost every litter of kittens we have taken in so far this season have had ringworm or flu costing us a lot in vet fees so we are looking at closing our doors to anymore cats for kitten season. - We have $2000 in outstanding vet fees that need to be paid ASAP! - We have cats waiting on surgeries (primarily dentals - some of which are becoming urgent) that can’t be done without the funds. For whatever reason our current and last fundraising events are getting very little attendance leaving us with no choice but to get on our paws and beg!! She perked up on Sat but deteriorated on Sunday and was in pain. This is the last video of this sweet little girl on Sat when she was content in front of the heater.... 17.01.2022 We are so saddened to learn that a wonderful fellow rescuer passed away last week. Christy was a wonderful mentor to us when we first started as a rescue 11 years ago. She supported us when others were hoping for us to fail especially when it came to TNRM. Christy helped so many cats in Perth and pioneered programs to better their welfare. She will be sadly missed and our thoughts go out to her family during this difficult time

No one has come forward to claim her so now she needs a foster carer who will consider adopting her if she fits in. ... Still not named, this older gal is a Devon Rex who’s coat is now soft and clean and she’s put on weight after being skinny and dirty when found. 16.01.2022 My name is Cara & I am a 9 Lives Forever Foster Cara’s foster carer Sharon says - Spitty Cara came to me 3yrs 10 months ago, one week before she gave birth to 4 kittens. They all had health issues but she was a great Mum. The last of her kittens were adopted recently. She is a pretty girl small and dumpy and was the most feral puss you could meet. But now she consents to occasional pats on her terms and she sneaks onto the bed to snooze and is happy and contented. She is so worth the effort to see her blossom, less of the spitty and more of the sweet Cara now.

They’ve had all their vet work done and have been in foster care for over 6mths now learning what it’s like to be a house cat. They’re also in their 2nd foster home now, so the next time we move these boys, we want to make sure it’s their last move. 12.01.2022 My name is Growl Tiger and I am a 9 Lives Forever Foster Growl Tiger (street name G-Tizzle). We were alerted to GT’s plight 4 years ago when he was doing it tough on the streets. A kind lady started feeding him as he looked injured and war torn. ... It’s took a lot of perseverance by one of our volunteers to trap him but eventually the lure of roast chicken was too much for him to resist! Once caught Growl Tiger went to our vets to address his disheveled state. He needed a dental to remove some nasty and painful teeth as well as x rays on his back legs to see why the joints were swollen. He had an infection in his left stifle which was addressed and he also tested positive to FIV. Being a sucker for the old souls our founder Nat took GT on as a foster and that is where he has stayed. Growl Tiger decided she was his person and only she was allowed to smooch him for many months. GT is an avid guard cat who makes sure no hoomans that aren’t invited come into his cat run/garden. The Telstra man didn’t stand a chance As GT has gotten older still his knees have started giving way leaving him a little wobbly on the back end. This doesn’t stop him from steam rolling over the other cats and leaping to great heights when food is involved. Growl Tiger is a forever foster due to his health issues and attachment to his hooman GT is named after the cat in T.S. 12.01.2022 DONATIONS NEEDED We hope everyone had a safe and happy new year! Ours has been a bit rough. ... Well more so for little 12 week old Chester! Chesters carer became concerned when he vomited and wouldn’t eat. A trip the emergency vet didn’t reveal much and as he didn’t improve he went to our regular vet the next day. Our vet decided it would be best to have an ultrasound done on Chester. The ultrasound showed that Chesters kidneys weren’t doing too well and blood tests confirmed this. Given that Chester had no exposure to toxins that could cause this it’s all a bit of a puzzle so off to Perth Cat Hospital we went as they are the best at solving puzzles. Chester has been receiving fluid therapy to bring his kidney enzym levels down which are slowly improving. Fluid therapy at the rates he needs with his age have thrown in some other complications so he has needed constant monitoring between the Cat Hosp and Perth Veterinary Emergency after hours. We are hoping to get this sweet boy through this but the costs (and it being public holidays) have us at $3000+ already so we are begging for help for Chesters treatment. 12.01.2022 MEET RORY! PURRSONALITY Rory is a gentle, timid and very affectionate cat. ... He loves human company, giving head bumps and following you around the house, waiting for a scratch or a belly rub. He is scared of loud noises and would be better suited to a quiet house without young children. He loves stretching out in front of you for a belly rub and will reach his little paw out to tap you on the hand to remind you of what he wants. He will be shy at first but once comfortable, and provided he is not scared by loud noises, he becomes quite playful and loves to run around the house in playful bursts. He is definitely a lap cat he will take any opportunity to jump on your lap for a cuddle. Rory doesn’t like other cats in the house, he may be ok with a quiet dog but is untested. He is a beautiful gentle old soul who deserves a loving home, and will make a great companion. But now she consents to occasional pats on her terms and she sneaks onto the bed to snooze and is happy and contented. 10.01.2022 Hello, my name is Lexi and I am a 9 Lives Forever Foster. My foster mum says I’m the perfect example of adorably cute doesn’t always equal adoptable. When I came into care 3yrs ago with my sister Willow we were both sick with cat flu and had very bad bowel bacteria infections that took months to clear up. We were both very timid and scared and took months after getting better just to be brave enough to leave our room. I don’t cope with change very well and when Willow got ...very sick and had to be quarantined away from me, I also developed cat flu symptoms due to the stress of being away from her. All seemed ok for a long while and I was slowly coming out of my shell more, but then Willow passed away suddenly from heart failure and I mourned very hard and developed flu symptoms again. I’ve had to endure 2 meet and greets just to see if I could be adopted, but I get so scared I wee myself and come out with cat flu symptoms afterwards because of the stress it puts my little body through. So we all decided that it’s better if I just stay here. I love my forever foster mum and dad and all the other cats here and I have my safe spots that I always lay in to make me feel ok. I’m also very frightened of visitors and I’m very good at hiding! I do love my foster mum though, and when it’s cold at night I sneak under the bed sheets to snuggle with her. She found me when I was a kitten, living in a dirty burrow under a school building. When the children were inside their classrooms, and all was quiet, I would venture out and play with the rubbish. In my foster home I have lots of toys, scratch posts, and a giant cat tree to climb. I am so grateful 9 Lives for my new life.

04.01.2022 What do we want for Christmas? Each year 9 Lives chooses a cat charity overseas that’s less fortunate than us to promote for donations. This is usually because they are operating in a place with few animal welfare laws and live in a society that doesn’t love cats the way we do! ... Despite our own recent financial crisis we didn’t want to miss doing this this year so we hope our supporters can help our chosen charity as generously as they did us. This year we are choosing Furever Home - Romania Cat Rescue to get donations because they are in desperate need. This sanctuary is run by a brother and sister in Romania and have over 200 cats in care. Many have medical needs which cost a lot to treat and they are in a country with few animal welfare laws with a society that places little value on cats lives. The winters are brutal with it getting below zero many days in a row so these kitties rely on the care on this sanctuary. Being small they are getting no response from the big world wide animal protection charities they have contacted so we hoping that our supporters can at least donate just a small amount this Christmas to help the kitties at this Sanctuary as this would be the greatest gift! 03.01.2022 My name is Ferrero and I am a 9 Lives Forever Foster. I was born in Foster Care over 6yrs ago. Sadly my parents were in a hoarding situation & because of this, I am inbred and have a deformed spine. I can't control my tail the way other cats can as my spine slopes downward, so when I go to the toilet, my tail tucks under my bum instead of sticking out & up.... This can make things messy sometimes as I have a sensitive tummy too. So I have to have my nether regions shaved on a regular basis and my foster mum checks my butt every day to make sure its nice and clean. I am also a Ragdoll Cross and I have the softest tummy fur my forever foster parents say they've ever felt, so this is brushed every day to prevent knots from forming. I've also had 2 dental operations as I'm prone to feline odontoclastic resorptive lesions (FORLs) and it can make my mouth very sore. I am now in my 2nd foster home & at my first foster home I didn't interact much and spent almost all my time outside in the cat run. But I came to my forever foster home 2yrs ago and my forever foster mum has helped me come out of my shell and now I love to cuddle, play and most of all sit in boxes and destroy them! See more

He got our hopes up several times with marked improvement but then another system in his body decided to cause problems. We could never get ahead of whatever was attacking his body and Chester reached a point where it was kinder to let him go Every effort was made to save Chester and no one fought harder for him than his foster carer Christ...ian and Krystina. Without them he would not have even had a chance so our deepest sympathies and love go out them Thank you to everyone who donated towards Chesters vet bills.
