22.01.2022 Okay peeps, normally I come to you with my wisdom and tell you what I know, I think as parents we gather a lot of fabulous tips and tricks and there is no point in keeping all that to ourselves when there is a chance something we say might help another struggling parent! Well, today I am reaching out because I am not sure about how to handle my situation with my son and I am hoping someone here might have some suggestions to change the dynamics. I am a very involved parent (...you probably know that already) and I have adopted for the most part a Positive Parenting philosophy, respecting kids and their feelings, we talk about emotions and I feel in general I am a very supportive parent. Today my son didn't do as well as he had hoped in his Swimming Carnival, we spoke about expectations in the days leading up to it, I wrote him a letter last night (for him to find this morning before the race) where I told him how proud I am of his efforts, of his focus and that the whole process of setting himself a goal and training for it was a big win. When I saw him after school I could tell he was not happy, I smiled and asked him how he went, he was angry and didn't want to talk to me. I feel lost here, I want him to come to me and fall apart with me... not avoid me. Does that make sense? See more

21.01.2022 26 years and 5 days ago I arrived in Australia. 26 years ago on my first day of school I asked this lovely girl if I could have lunch with her, we have been friends ever since! Today we caught up for coffee and pastries at our local bakery Flour Shop on Princes St in Turramurra. What’s your oldest friendship that is still going strong? How do you keep it going?

16.01.2022 As I see more and more posts from small business owners in Melbourne having to deal with yet another lockdown, I am reminded of how easy it really is to show our support, even if we have no $$ to spend!! Of course, if you do and you need the product or service on offer, don’t be shy, put your hand in your pocket and spend away!
