24.01.2022 Photo of the week: come and enjoy Murray Bridge's beautifull parks. This tree has to be my South Australian favourite gumtree, love those metallic shiny trunks and branches and those folds looking exactly as our skin does at the elbows. Their colour vary from gold to copper and I wouldn't be surprised to see silver too. Not sure of it's name though but I'd love to have a forest of them

23.01.2022 Photo of the week: one of my favourite pig face, I've never seen this colour (first pic) until Sacha bought this one for my last birthday. My other favourite is the red one which looks hot pink on the photo and flashy red in the flesh (second pic).

20.01.2022 Windamere Horse Haven need your help 2020 is proving to be a financially tough time for everyone including us here at Windamere. Firstly the drought made so...urcing suitable fodder difficult, then to loose that hay plus rugs, saddlery, supplies and infrastructure in the fires, sponsorship then dropped by 50%, now COVID-19 has put a hold on gargage sales and any fundraisers. The horses still need feeding, farriers and vet work. 18.01.2022 Photo of the week: come and meet Rosie (without the white patch) our new arrival, Sophie had to go for a foot treatment so to keep company to Emma we have Rosie a gorgeous 4 years old standard bred. She is so sweet, loves the attention, loves her cuddles and would give you her feet without fuss. She's just a big baby and so funny too we love her so much already.

17.01.2022 Photo of the week: last summer we decided to let the delicate cottage plants die because so far we "spent" to much water trying to save them from the summer roasting and yet loosing them in winter. To replace them we are going for the natives and among them we discovered the Eremophila not only they are tough and built for our soil and climate but there is a huge range of them from groundcover to small trees and they are full of gorgeous and colorful flowers to the delight of our bees, most flower on and off throughout the year. So here are a few of our collection:

What I love in Australia is that when it finally rains it's as if you could hear the garden sigh with content (not contempt as I mistakenly wrote in the first place, made Rob laugh a fair bit ). 14.01.2022 Photo of the week: I know it's been a while sorry. Sacha and his new pets. After the last big heat and strong winds Sacha found those 2 babies, since we couldn't find their respective nests we ended up nursing them, they are sure keen in making those little wings work but they'll have to be able to feed themselves before we free them so they'll be with us for a while. Those are little sparrows I wonder if they'll come and say hello later on when we'll cross their path. A honey eater that we raised back in Busselton (WA) was use to accompany us back to home after meeting with us during our walk, for 1,5 / 2 kms, so cute.

10.01.2022 Photo of the week: here's one of our favourite summer dish, Tiropita served with salad. The Tiropita is a Greek dish with a feta, fresh creame and eggs in puff pastry, it was my favourite snack when I was living in Greece where you can by those like you buy sausage rolls in Australia . Very easy dish, it takes more time to cook it than preparing it, come and try it and don't hesitate to ask for the recipe.

09.01.2022 Photo of the week: you need the sound up for this one. We have a special VIP guest at A La Folly he's been hanging around in our garden for about a week now and i bow down to him every morning . Love this bird of good omen, he apparently invited a few of his friends, we have about 3 of them now . So please join me and let's venerate the rain bird so happy our garden is enjoying the rain with an explosion of flowers so grateful to quench its thirst already present. Happy rainy day everyone.

06.01.2022 Photo of the week: great news our beautiful Emma has been adopted and is gone to her forever home. Since Rosie fattened up she is now gone to have a bit of work done so she can be adopted as well. In a couple of weeks we'll be fostering 2 new horses. Please remember that Windamere Horse Haven welcomes donations.

I just realise that I might have said that every years but too bad those Hardenbergia certainly deserve a medal not only they are gorgeous but they resist the Murray bridge heat and frost so well without mentioning the pitiful soil we have or should I say the rocks we have and the soil we lack
