23.01.2022 I was sitting having my morning coffee on the verandah this morning and a young mum with a baby in a stroller was going for her morning walk. She had a plastic bag in her hand and as she walked she was picking up small pieces of rubbish and putting them in the bag. I asked her if she'd like me to throw it in the bin but she said that was fine she would keep filling the bag until she got home and then throw it away. What a great idea. I thought how much rubbish could be cleaned up if more people did this on their walks.

15.01.2022 Make some weed tea to help your garden grow and recycle the weeds. Fill an onion bag (open weave) with kikuyu/couch or other weeds to make it into a weed teabag. Add a brick to the bag to help it submerge. Then put that into a bucket and submerge the weeds in water ensure they are completely underwater. Its called death by drowning. Cover well to keep out mosquitoes.... After about twelve weeks, the weeds are completely dead. Take the weed tea bag out of the bucket and let it drain. The structure of the weeds is left, but without the nutrients, which have seeped into the water. Put the weed debris into the compost heap so that it continues to break down. What remains is a liquid that makes a wonderful weed tea. Put it on the compost heap, so the nutrients accelerate the composting process and make it happen faster. Use the tea as a liquid fertilizer. But remember its quite strong and may need to be diluted to a mixture thats about one part weed tea to ten parts water before its ready for use.

04.01.2022 An important message to all those who throw their rubbish away without thinking where it will end up. Just because you put a plastic bottle into the rubbish doesnt mean it wont end up in the sea. We need to stop using plastic unless we learn to recycle properly. If we don't recycle plastic we will not only pollute our oceans but we will kill our wildlife and ruin this beautiful planet.
04.01.2022 This is a great idea.
