23.01.2022 Did you know that here at A to Z Building Reports we are a small family business? Everyone who books a report gets the real owner inspecting their house!! (We don't just send staff to do the job.) Marten is fully qualified, and has been inspecting and reporting on properties in the Hunter Valley for 25 years...over 5,000 reports all personally inspected and compiled! Save 10 % in December/January - Book your report online now, and have Marten check out your property. Will your subfloor bathroom area be as leaky as the one in this photo??!

18.01.2022 Here is a thermal image I took in a house recently. It was shot looking at the rear side of a shower wall - the red is showing the hot water running down inside the wall which tells us that the pipe to the shower rose is leaking...badly. Our high quality thermal camera is great at detecting this stuff! Are you buying a property? Call us to check it out, and find out the problems first. Save yourself a fortune! New Year Special Offer - 10% discount when booked online.

10.01.2022 Wishing you all a very Happy Christmas!

07.01.2022 Fretting - Here's a great example that I found under a house recently. You can see this sub-floor wall has a bad case of fretting to both the bricks and mortar! Over time the mortar joints will compress as the mortar and bricks disintegrate (or fret) causing the wall to shrink. As a result, it will no longer provide adequate support to the house above. Fretting is often caused by excessive moisture, but the type of brick used can also contribute. Of course, there can be many other factors, but this will give you a brief summary.
