24.01.2022 WE ARE ONE LIVINGSTONE SHIRE. Well our campaign journey is almost at an end and voting closes at 6pm on Saturday 28th March 2020, and then the wait begins. For me it has been a very interesting few months, and I know if successful it will be an exciting and challenging 4 years ahead.... Throughout these past couple of months I have been lucky enough to meet some amazing community members and visit parts of our Shire that I hadn't been to for many years. We have some amazing hidden gems that only the locals to the area know about, and I thank you for having shared these with me. Thank you for sharing your issues, your ideas and your amazing piece of our Livingstone Paradise. Thank you for inviting me into your homes, and thank you for taking the time to talk to me. For my family, I think it has been even more challenging. Their encouragement and support has been invaluable and I thank them for that. To my friends and supporters who have offered words of encouragement, assistance and support, what can I say but Thank You? You are amazing individuals and I could not have done this without you. Livingstone Shire is an incredible place with incredibly diverse communities sharing in some of the best this state of ours has to offer. It would be a privilege to become your next Mayor and bring all of our communities together as One Livingstone Shire. However this is not up to me. This is our piece of paradise - whether it is an island resort, a coastal view, rainforest ranch, cattle station, rural block, urban block, or a private getaway, it is the people within these communities that make Livingstone Shire a 'Paradise'. You are awesome. THANK YOU

19.01.2022 Andy Ireland, Mayoral Candidate for Livingstone Shire WHO I AM & WHY I AM RUNNING FOR MAYOR? It’s simple.I want to help get this shire moving. I have children and grandchildren living here and I would like them to have the opportunity to live, work, and invest right here in Livingstone. This is one of the most beautiful regions in Australia, but at the moment the opportunities for work and investment are limited, not just for young people, but most people. We have had a tale...Continue reading

02.01.2022 Hi everyone. A quick update on the election count.... at this stage we are ahead by a good margin. As I understand it the pre-poll votes and the Election Day votes have been counted with the outstanding postal votes still trickling in. The number of these have slowed down over the last few days. I am not claiming victory until the Electoral Commission declares the Livingstone Poll in my favour, which may not be until next week. Bill Ludwig has conceded, but in the scheme of t...hings that means little (no disrespect intended to Bill), as the final decision belongs to the Commission. So we are playing the waiting game. I would also like to say a big "Thank You" to those who supported me and my campaign. Without your support we wouldn't be in the position we are in, with a real ability to shape our shire for the future. The strong message we received throughout the campaign was that the community wanted change, and that's what's happened. You are amazing Livingstone, and I am truly humbled. In closing, I would like to thank my team whose support was unwavering, brilliant, creative, and given freely. I have no words that can express my appreciation for your work and dedication. You are all exceptional individuals. The friendships that have been forged throughout this campaign will be something I treasure for the rest of my life. Finally, I would like to thank my wife, Helen, who has been my adviser, print and media specialist, graphic designer, and strategist. You amaze me every day (in a good way) and I could not have done this without you. "I love you" doesn't seem to be enough.
