They need space and plenty of it to be mixed in the same tank, upto 3ft will house a pair, 4ft might be ok for 2 pairs or 2 and a 3 individual fish.

24.01.2022 GOURAMIS Galore This week we are looking at Gourami, This is an interesting group of fish that are related to Siamese Fighters/betta. They are able to breath oxygen from the surface or the water and generally blow bubble nests just like a Siamese fighter.... They can be territorial but some of them are so small that they are still ideal for all sizes of community aquariums. They come in a varied array of colours and some most people have probably never even seen before. This weekends special is also a gourami, so sit tight for what it is!!

24.01.2022 This is Ridge he is one of the Owners here at A1 Aquarium World! Ridge has been fish keeping since he was 10 years old and currently has a large marine set up at home as well as his Freshwater Waterbox in store which he designed and looks after everyday! He is a chef by trade, and also worked in the mining industry for 4.5 years before finally settling into Owning A1. Ridge is a full time dad to two boys Deqlan and Leo who keep him very busy too! He loves working here and c...reating connections with all of his customers and being able to help people, but also loves seeing all the cool and exotic fish we get in (I do think its a highlight for all of us who work here though ) His favourite fish is his pair of ocellaris clownfish. 22.01.2022 Keeping on theme from our clean up crew members I'm going to tell you about the Otocinclus. An Otocinclus Catfish is a small fish. They can grow to be about 1 1/2 2 inches when fully mature. They are great clean up crew and like to eat algae off your ornaments, wood, stones and glass. A huge buying point is that they can be kept with shrimp and snails, Cory Catfish and other peaceful tank mates. To help Angelfish thrive keep the pH level of the water in the aquarium slightly acidic; in other words, around the 7.0 level or slightly lower and the temperature at around 26 degrees!... 19.01.2022 Gourami Glut This weekend we have some cute little Gouramis on sale, online and instore. Red Honey Gourami $5 Gold Honey Gourami $5... Honey Gourami $5 AND Lace Gourami $5 All $5 each, limit of 5 per customer group or online order. These are awesome asian fish, very robust they dont get disease easily. The Honey gouramis stay small, they are a bit territorial but because they are so small its not a big issue in a community tank. Pearl gouramis have a nice colour difference between the males and females are a fairly peaceful gourami and idea for a medium to large community tank. They all like tropical water 22 degreed celcius plus. And are fairly general in their pH desires 6-7.5

Louise has been apart of the A1 team for a few months now, she began here by volunteering her time to gain valuable knowledge but we loved her so much we decided she needed to become a permanent part of the team! Louise has been keeping fish since she was 10 years old and now is raising a new generation of fish keepers with her beautiful children, Makayla, Sienna, Hunter and Ida. Louise enjoys working at A1 and learning about ...fish from the other staff members and even the customers! Her most favourite fish are Black and White Percula Clownfish. Louise has a good level of knowledge and experience keeping both Salt and Fresh water fish and Specialises in Betta care. Make sure you give her a warm welcome to the Team next time you're in store.
