24.01.2022 I need some new business cards & some stickers made up. Anyone know someone who can help ? ThanksI need some new business cards & some stickers made up. Anyone know someone who can help ? Thanks

23.01.2022 Had this question a few times, & thought this offers a good explanation. https://www.bikebiz.com.au//ar/motorcycle-helmet-standards

22.01.2022 Great ride today by Cameron. Only doing a lesson, but we had "shit" going on everywhere. You name it, it was happening. Like they were handing out idiot pills somewhere. To his credit, cool, calm & collected.... Actually helped to make sense of why we need to have that constant awareness when we`re out riding. Sometimes you`ll ride for months & its fine. Then, out of the blue, it all goes pear shaped. Like today. Looking, looking, looking. https://media.giphy.com/media/UrnNq5kLBqeXK79D2m/giphy.gif See more

22.01.2022 Then new Smaller And Brighter

21.01.2022 Ended up settling on these indicators A lot smaller, so should get the job done

19.01.2022 Frustrating fail for a student today. A young bloke who I would've put money on blitzing it. His riding was That good. But, got caught out being in the wrong gear after his emergency braking. Rushed it, was in 2nd & not 1st, & uncustomarily stalled. Out of that, he then rushed himself at the next set of lights & failed for not giving way to a car. One little mistake, became a big mistake by dwelling on it.... As much as I know it`s hard, take your time, don't rush, & don't beat yourself up about the things you can't change. We are all human. We All make mistakes. It`s the good riders who can leave those issues behind, & focus on the problems in front. Very mature, he took it on the chin, & we`ll Definitely get it done next time. See more

18.01.2022 Good to chat with Joan today. Joan, along with hubby Don, did some refresher lessons with me previously. She got her license some time ago, & had been off the bike for a while. Wanted some help with getting her confidence back. We took our time. Just riding around the back streets initially to get her skills up to scratch, then out on to bigger roads when she was ready. Later on, she did a Lady`s Only Trakdayz course.... I wanted to see what she thought of it, & if it helped her ? A resounding Yes was her reply. All of us, me included, can Always improve our skills. Be on the lookout for info or courses that can assist with that. https://www.trakdayz.com.au/ourservic/courses/stage1course/ Don't be afraid to give one a go See more

17.01.2022 What a magic afternoon ! The sea breeze was in, but it wasn't the sea Gale that we've been getting. Great ride down the coast this arvo with Adrian. Really enjoyable. And That`s why we ride. We experience everything that little bit more on the bike.... https://www.facebook.com/bestmotorcycleroads/ See more

16.01.2022 Anyone know anybody that does 3D printing ? The clips for our Sena intercom modules continually break off, & you aren't able to buy replacement parts.

16.01.2022 The new Yamaha MT09. https://www.mcnews.com.au/2021-yamaha-mt-09/ Hmmmmm ? Dunno about that headlight

15.01.2022 Two good R class passes today. Well done Richard first up. He had done a lesson with another instructor who only rode him around Hillarys, as that`s where the instructor lived. Didnt Really help Richard though. So his lovely wife, Caroline, got in contact with me to get his test sorted. We did our lessons in Joondalup, as that`s where it made more sense. His ride today was good. Again, get settled, take your time, & try & forget that you're on a test. It`s just another ride.... While his U turns weren't as good as they were with me, he managed to get through. Already has a Honda VTR1000. A great bike, & one I've owned, so I know he`ll have fun on it. https://www.productreview.com.au/l/honda-vtr1000f-firestorm And then George. Another great rider & good bloke. Unfortunately today, work got in the way, & a bit rushed to get to the lesson beforehand. Only took a couple of minutes for him to get settled on the bike though. Nearly got caught out leaving his indicator on but, rather than just tapping the cancel button once, he hit a few times, & actually got it off in the end. Good move. Good pass. Well done mate ! Been looking at Harley V Rods but, with the "Covid Tax" (everything has increased in value due to everybody wanting things that aren't available due to Covid), they`ve gone up nearly $10,000. He`s happy to bide his time &, hopefully they'll drop back to normality soon ? https://www.motorcyclespecs.co.za//harley_davidson_vrscB%2 See more

12.01.2022 I always try & get as much use & value out of my tyres. But, with this wet weather forecast for this week, probably time to replace the front. Not quite down to the wear marker, but pretty close. As it’s a different rim, & as such, disc as well, good idea to replace the brake pads too. While I was at it, also checked the rears as they had been becoming a bit noisy. They weren’t bad but, as they had done 40Kkms, & while they’re out, may as well put new ones in. Yamaha part, b...ut a little different to the originals. More pad material at the top. Waited for a break in the weather, then had to go for a quick spin to bed everything in. All working well now, & a lot safer. With the uncertainty of supply, due to Covid, I now keep most of my spares here ready at home, so easy job. See more

11.01.2022 A good bike, & now with some extras. https://www.teammoto.com.au//dr-z400e-cape-york-edit/2771/

10.01.2022 Installing the new indicators With the adapter, easy And being halogen, rather than LED, doesn’t alter the flash cycle 1st old

10.01.2022 How a normal person thinks: I need a new air filter for the old MT07. Go to Yamaha & get one. Cheap. How a motorcyclist thinks: Good excuse to spend more on an expensive K & N filter for the new bike, & put the new bikes old, but perfectly good filter, in the other bike. ... Will I feel the extra maybe 1hp ? No. But will I Feel faster ? Absa-bloody-lutley See more

09.01.2022 Been seeing more & more of these varying sorts of vehicles about. The rules & regs are interesting. https://rac.com.au/car-moto//e-skateboard-e-scooter-rules

09.01.2022 Time to pension off the old RST jeans. The sun always makes a mess of the upper legs. Got a new pair of Draggin cargoes

09.01.2022 I had to do My assessment today. (As a licensed instructor, every three years we are required by the DoT to complete a 2hr assessment to show our competency as an instructor). As I`ve now been instructing for 15yrs now (Holy Shit, where`s That time gone), I would hope that I wouldn't have any issues ? It was actually an enjoyable ride. Magic day, perfect conditions. Thank you to Steve, from Compliance, for the ride.... This actually allows us to have a discussion on what is required from our students, any issues or problems with the way the tests are run, & generally a conversation as to making the process better. I passed. Happy about that. But my mindset is to keep pushing the DoT to make make sure every assessment, at every Lic Ctr, is to the same standard of difficulty, so every student has a fair go. We all want the same result. More riders out on the road, making us All more visible. See more

09.01.2022 If you get the chance, check out this great Aussie movie. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xg4zGf3_F1Q Filmed down South, staring one of my students.

09.01.2022 Well done to Dave on his R class pass today. To keep on top of it all, Dave has been seeing me about once a month, over the last few months. Wanted to keep his skills up, refine his awareness, & maintain that confidence. Even though his ride on the lesson beforehand was good, his U turns weren't as comfortable as they normally were. Bit more pressure from the test. But we worked on them, & they're looking a lot better with the practice. On the test, his U turns were fine. Bu...t overthinking his riding positions did cost him a couple of minor marks. But, a pass none the less. Couldn`t be happier ! It was his birthday today, Happy Birthday Mate, so a great present. He`s a little bit overwhelmed as to which bike to buy now though. I said to him, get out & ride as many as you can. Take your time. Suss out what you do & don't like. And then make the decision. Have fun with your search mate. See more

08.01.2022 Also had a bit of an issue with the indicator cancel button being a bit sticky. Pulled it apart & cleaned it up, but still not much better. Got a spare lying around, so popped it on. That’s better. A Lot easier to turn off the signals now. Don’t want any student failing due to a faulty switch. ... Just remember to bloody turn them off though ! See more

08.01.2022 Well done to Dave on his R/E pass today. It`s been a bit of a long time coming. Like a lot of people life, & the world, gets in the way. A great rider who is very competent on the bike. But, on his first test, the nerves got the better of him.... Overthinking it, & second guessing himself. Frustrating. A Lot better today though. A lot more relaxed. Just riding & letting the whole process happen. He was given a Really wide street to do his U turns, but kept looking at the bloody kerbs, & running wide. Get that bloody head up & look where you want to bloody go Thankfully the rest of his ride was spot on, & that pulled him through. Always remember, don't give up if you do make a mistake. Leave it behind, & focus on the rest of your ride. He did, & he passed. Good stuff mate ! Going home to jump on his Yamaha R3. https://www.yamaha-motor.com.au//mo/road/supersport/yzf-r3 See more

04.01.2022 The old adage of measuring twice & cutting once sort of applies When passing the info about the swing arm on to Derek, the mechanic, who passed it on the welder, the wires got a little crossed. The plates for the tow bar that were supposed to be on the outside edge, ended up being on the inside edge. Damn ! Pull it out & do it again
