23.01.2022 Don’t become numbers conscious, become effort conscious! There’s no NEED to have a goal weight! Many women worry when their weight stays the same or increases. This is not always bad! Understand this, as long as measurements are going down in the right places (waist is a popular one), then you know you’re on the right track. If you’re lifting weights in the gym, eating according to your goals, and your measurements go down, then there’s no need to focus on the scale weight..., it doesn’t tell us enough info! 23.01.2022 You may have the DESIRE to change your fitness n nutrition, but you just don’t have a clear PLAN to do so! Sis you need a plan! For example: . Plan your meals Make sure there’s a good portion of protein, carbs and healthy fats. Meal prep is keyyy! Plan your workouts Not only the days you’ll work out, but what kinda of workout? Don’t just wing it, have a plan such as: Dumbbell Squat 3x15, Lunges 3x12, and so forth. Have the necessary equipment (if at home)... things like resistance bands and dumbbells come in handy, otherwise a bag stuffed with books, bottles of water etc Plan to walk daily!10,000 steps a day is generally a good number . 21.01.2022 PAELLA . I loooove this paella recipe that I actually got from my sister! This makes a great post workout meal loaded with carbs, veggies and protein! I made extra to store away in the freezer for some quick go-to meals *swipe left* .... Ingredients: Rice (I use either basmati or Uncle bens long grain works really well) Red and Green Capsicum Onion Chicken thigh or breast Nandos sauce (swipe left) Little bit of turmeric and saffron . Method: Add some oil to a saucepan (I use natural ghee with everything), cook the diced capsicums and onion. Set aside once softened. Cook the chicken. Set aside once done. Add rice onto the empty saucepan along with some oil, boiling water, the whole nandos sauce bottle, the veggies, the turmeric and saffron. Add salt. On high until it starts to boil, then on low. Once the rice is cooked, add your chicken! . 20.01.2022 I want to be toned... something I hear often, being one of the most common goal that women have. . Toned simply means having more muscle, and less body fat. It’s the combination of both that makes you look toned. This is why it’s important to do weight training! However pumping the same weights week after week isn't progression, it's cardio with weights. It's not going to get you toned. .... SoOo if you want to get toned, you need progressive overload. Which simply means, increasing the weight you lift, gradually. 18.01.2022 You can’t hate yourself into a version of yourself that you can love. . Don’t start a weight loss journey from a place of HATE. I hate my body, I hate the way I look, I hate these love handles, I hate this, I hate that . Yeahhhh you’re probably thinking easy for you to say.. bla bla bla. No, I’m speaking from experience. As a teenager, I used to IDOLISE Victoria’s Secret models, to the point where I’d starve myself. It came from a place of body hate. Now things are differ...ent because my thoughts and mindset changed. . It’s okay to want to better yourself and get healthier, but starting from a place of hate is too cruel. There’s no need for that. I’ll tell you why. Because as long as you hate and pick on everything about your body, you’ll forever be doing that, EVEN WHEN you get to your goal weight. You’ll never be satisfied so long as you have that attitude of hate towards your body. . Start with respect, start with love to your body. 17.01.2022 Been making Tuna Cakes for months and recently made a whole bunch for meal prep! These are sOoOo nice and handy, I placed them in the freezer and that way I always had something to add to my salads or rice for quick, go-to meals . This is one of the many recipes included in the Recipe book I give to clients. Defs one of my favs! .... TUNA CAKES! . 425g Tuna Can (Sirena is my fav brand) 1 onion finely chopped 1 tbs ginger chopped 1 clove garlic chopped 2 tbs chopped coriander 2 tbs chopped parsley salt and pepper 1 egg . Spray some oil in a pan and cook the onion, ginger and garlic for a minute. Add the mixture to the rest of the ingredients and mix everything, shape into patties and cook them for a few mins on each side. EASY! . . Not only in regards to fitness, but in life, the weight of whatever circumstance produces growth. .... The heaviness, the pain, the circumstance, look at it as training ground. It’s in that training ground where we grow, where we learn. So, if you’re in that place, I want to encourage you, you’re just in training! It’s not forever! Learn what you need to learn, ask God to show you. And soon you’ll see growth, soon you’ll see a change, and you’ll be ready to help someone else. 15.01.2022 A lot of us are struggling with motivation right now, but HEAR ME: You’re NOT gonna get motivated by waiting to get motivated! . I want to share what worked for me. Up until recently, I went for almost a year of HATING the gym and not wanting to work out. I still did it coz of discipline, but it wasn’t as frequent and they were blah sessions coz I just didn’t wanna be there! What changed!? ... . I changed my way of TALKING about the issue. So instead of saying, I don’t wanna go, I hate it, ughhhh I dread the gym/working out, bla bla bla I started saying I’m motivated to work out! I love the gym, I’m excited! . Saying this with an emotion (pretend enthusiasm lol) EVEN WHEN I didn’t believe this or feel this way, I still changed my wording. . Changing your language changes your perception and feeling about something. This is the key. . I’m gonna start doing this with cooking (coz I hate cooking) and see what happens! Hahah! . 13.01.2022 Healthy GF Blueberry Muffins . Here we gooo! Gluten free that DOESNT taste like cardboard! I asked if y’all wanted the recipe and many said yep! Someone shared this recipe with me and I looooved it. This is EASIER than it looks I promise! I’m not a baker at all and I got it spot on the first time sooo don’t doubt yourself lol .... Ingredients: 200g blueberries fresh or frozen 170g buckwheat flour 130g almond meal 2 tsp baking powder zest of 2 lemons tsp fine sea salt 2 medium eggs 150 ml maple syrup 80 ml olive oil 180ml milk (I used almond milk) . Instructions: Preheat the oven to 200c. Lightly grease or line a 12-muffin pan with paper cases. Set aside. In a large bowl combine the flour, ground almonds, baking powder, salt and lemon zest, stir using a whisk and set aside. In another large bowl whisk together the egg, oil, maple syrup and milk until smooth. Pour the blueberries into the dry mixture and stir carefully until evenly coated. Add the wet mixture all at once and stir only until the dry ingredients are no longer visible. Spoon the batter into the muffin cases and bake in the centre of the oven for 26 minutes. Remove from the oven and set aside for 10 minutes then transfer the muffins onto a rack. . 12.01.2022 If you want to look more toned, more athletic and overall better, then you need to train for that goal. You need to prioritise building muscle in the areas you want to improve. You do this by lifting weights several times per week. Getting stronger over time by doing more sets, reps and lifting more weight. And prioritise exercises and muscle groups you want to develop. This is the only way your body will truly change shape. . Running on the treadmill to try and change you...r body shape and look more toned makes NO SENSE at all.. It literally does the opposite of what you’re trying to do. And if you’re sticking to the treadmill out of fear of the weights area, just pay a trainer for a one off session, your life and results will exponentially improve. Well said by Chris Duncan! . . . 11.01.2022 When someone asks me about motivation, I’m most likely going to say it’s a discipline thing. It’s a habit thing. It’s a mindset thing. . Don’t rely on how you feel when you wake up to workout or not. Don’t rely on how you feel when it comes to preparing your meals etc. . Make it a habit.... Do it over and over and over again, until it’s part of your lifestyle. . I wish there was a magic pill for motivation. But there isn’t. . Create good habits and DO THEM regardless how you feel. There’s nothing wrong with your weight, just be happy with what you have, accept and love yourself as you are.. and on and on and on. . Well I want to say that there’s NOTHING wrong with wanting to lose weight or going to the gym for whatever goal. .... Wanting to lose weight SHOULD come from self love and respect to your body. It’s not a negative thing and shouldn’t come from a place of hate. Don’t lose weight coz you hate your body, lose weight coz you love yourself and want the best for yourself. Perspective! 06.01.2022 It’s been a while since I’ve posted! I took December off for my first social media cleanse (which was great btw!), and then for the most of Jan I was away, went to Tasmania with my love , then on a fam beach getaway! I should defs post some Tassie pics, it was beauutiful! I’ve just learnt to enjoy the moment when out and about rather than being glued to my phone and posting. 01.01.2022 ONE SIMPLE FAT LOSS TIP In order to ensure you get your workout/walk etc DONE, it’s a great idea to SCHEDULE it in. Don’t just go about your day winging everything. Schedule it in! . What days work best? What time works best? Schedule it in! . Don’t follow your feelings and mood. If you know you can commit 3 days a week, choose which days.... . For example, I’ve chosen Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays for my workouts, and almost daily for my walks. For me I prefer to workout early afternoon or morning coz that’s when I have most energy so I’ll work around that. Do I get it done every time? Nope! And that’s cool. It’s not about perfection, I never expect perfection. But just consistency over time. . SoOoooO schedule it in, prepare your clothes beforehand and follow through. . 01.01.2022 I lost 10kgs... but then put it back on a year later... It’s like a never ending cycle! Losing fat/weight isn’t always the hardest part, it’s the MAINTENANCE. . My client said this statement to me and I was soOOoOooO happy! She worked with me for both exercise and nutrition, and I helped her understand what needed to be done. When I saw her a long time later, she updated me and told me she had still MAINTAINED what she’d lost. I got so happy for her, because to maintain is ...a whole LIFESTYLE. . Lifestyle! Not a diet. 01.01.2022 Breakfast for Chaaaaamps! . - 4 eggs (2 and a bit yolks) (protein/fats) - Half an avo (healthy fats) (looking a bit tired here but still fine, man these guys give up so quick ) - Tomato and Cucumber (Veggies) (or apparently tomato is a fruit! ) ... - Organic Sauerkraut (which is fermented cabbage GREAT for your gut health as it contains good bacteria ) - Drizzled organic flax seed oil on top (omega 3) (very important as we eat too much omega 6 and not enough omega 3! ) . For me this is an ideal breakfast, important macronutrients as well as micronutrients. So filling/satisfying as well! 01.01.2022 Growing up, I always had mum tell me finish your plate eat eat eat don’t let it go to waste... till this day she does it lol! . This idea of eat it so it doesn’t go to waste is just wrong though... simply listen to your body, when you’re almost quite full, you need to stop. Consuming excessive calories is where our goals go downhill. We shouldn’t be scoffing food down just so it doesn’t go to waste.
