25.01.2022 Last night saw us recover a Suzuki with the Beast, the Suzuki's normally don't get in trouble but the sand is powdery, a novice 4x4er , one wrong move and you're gone.... the Beasts winch slowly and safely pull them out. SEE COMMENTS FOR PICS

25.01.2022 FYI the track to Poverty has a couple of bad spots as marked, in these spots try sticking to the right side going up.

24.01.2022 Dont like snatching but forced to Do this snatch one, reverse up as close as you can. Then simply drive off, as if you going down the highway, the bogged vehicle will simply pop up and out. Our 6.6ltr GMC using a 15,000lb ARB strap (cost $187) we're not promoting them but we just know what works for us.

24.01.2022 Friday night 8 pm, saw us recover these guys from second (Norfolk Lagoon) the sand is soft up in the lagoon edge. If crossing go down close to the wave action, "walk it if your not sure" it should be 300mm deep, wait for a break in the waves and go, don't speed, no wheel spin. These guys called us after failed attempt, breaking a snatch strap, we winched then out with dyneema rope, no damage no danger. Paid by card incl gst $250. Not $660 as quoted by the others.

22.01.2022 No guys that's not a shortcut home from Bribie to Brisbane, a couple of lost hours, few broken snatch straps and then we got the call they were safely winched out in 5 minutes and on their way.

21.01.2022 Trees on Ocean Beach, be careful, late friday night we recovered these guys, they hit a tree trunk half buried in the sand (they don't move), not speeding, not hooning, just didn't see it. Radius arm broken every thing else bent, including rim We loaded backwards, strap the front end in place, winched on, transferred to our 4.5 ton tri-axle trailer and home.

20.01.2022 Today several 4x4ers bogged or doing it tough in the soft sand on the way to Poverty, stick to the right hand side going up.......

19.01.2022 Wednesday mornings call, "hi I borrowed dads car and I'm bogged" ye ! We're coming..... don't ask....... play nice

18.01.2022 Hi guys, a long weekend is here, if your bogged or you've broken your 4x4, we have 10 years of technical experience doing hundreds of recoveries, we will- 1.Talk you out of being bogged over the phone. 2. Help a passer-by to assist you out, if they've got the gear, technical advice may help.... 3. Tell you how much the MAXIMUM is going to cost you to be recovered. Of 6 recoveries last week 4 were discounted as the job was easier than quoted. 4. Take a deposit payment over the phone, includes GST 5. Take the Final payment is over the phone once your out and safe. (This quite often includes escorting you to destination i.e Poverty or the car park) We carry $20 million public liability with Elders insurance, complicated recoveries will be videoed for WPHS and insurance reasons. All staff are experienced and well trained. We do post video or photos (removing personal identifying features) We will not rip you off because of your misfortune

17.01.2022 Wednesday the road into Gallaghers is soft, same problem as before. If your buying a caravan check the wheel track width between your 4'b and the van, you need it close in line in order to go through soft sand, and not have to cut two tracks, which will bog the tow vehicle. Seems the 4wd wasn't working properly on this one as well. We winch out first then simply reverse the truck, the dyneema rope safely does the rest.... These people hung up the phone on another recovery company when they were told their price for them to help.......enough said.

17.01.2022 You never know how deep it is, grief can be just around the corner, we safely winched them out in minutes and they were on their way.

14.01.2022 Today the "Beast SON OF CHRISTOPHER" was at work, someone tried to help but stuffed it and left them like this, we hooked on recovered in 3 minutes, another happy customer with no damage....

14.01.2022 Todays recovery, Mum and the kids sitting in the shade but that hot dark sand is everywhere, Dad frustrated because he's a seasoned 4 wheel driver, just didnt think it would happen to them... and after several passer-by failed attempts at recovery, we did the job. We then discounted the original quote again as the job was easier than thought.... Please guys phone us while your help is still there, there are lots of techniques, you may save us a trip and you some money.

13.01.2022 The dry weather has made the inland and Woorim Beach access track very powdery, if you don't have much ground clearance, put tyres at 18 psi and try making a new track, driving on top of the sand between existing tracks, with the increased foot print (tyre) you won't bog or belly out. This week saw us rescue 6 groups hears 4. 1. Campervan no probs 2. The Audience arrived that always happens....... 3. The Nissan, the soft sand will expose a nearly worn out clutch, no warning.... 4. The Girls in their tribute drove up to poverty then to Lighthouse and nearly back to poverty, they bogged, love the hands out the window trying to get phone reception See more

12.01.2022 Happy New Year Thank you for you ongoing support. May God bless your every venture have a wonderful year.

11.01.2022 Someone shared a disapointing story with us recently about a recovery. They dropped a ball joint in the Bribie National Park, *a recovery service quoted $300 for recovery, *The recovery service went and looked at the job then increased the quoted to $600, ... * the vehicle owner paid a $200 deposit, *the job, still wasn't done *the recovery service (no ABN) then increased the quoted to $1600 * they sighting the need to increase, because they had to sack their staff. *The owner found a mechanic who would replace the ball joint whilst in the park for $350 *the recovery business told the owner that the Park Rangers would not let them do the work whilst in the national park. *The owner got the recovery job done by someone else *the owner then asked for their $200 back, it wasnt forthcoming * the owner had to go to the office of fair trading to get the money back, the OFT have mounted a full investigation into this matter. Note- there are no name mentioned here deliberately, please don't, this post is about being careful who you use.

10.01.2022 Regularly check your recovery point and bullbar bolts they can rust or loosen.

09.01.2022 State forest excursion went wrong trying to help someone else out, these good Samaritans got bogged themselves.

07.01.2022 Yesterday 1 recovery, nice white BMW, was out of bog when we got there, seems it wasnt in 4x4 mode. Taking the girlfriend for a drive. Shhhhh! You don't need to say it. Today inland track young guys clutch gave up

07.01.2022 When your friends tell you the road to Poverty is ok for 2wd, have a bet with them-that you won't make it, cos that's the only way you'll win....

07.01.2022 Tonight saw us on the Ocean Beach Access track, the driver had been through this track many times, in his 80 series, changed vehicles and left the recovery gear at home.......

06.01.2022 Whats this.... AH! a blown radiator, please remember if you drive in the soft sand your engine will be revving higher and may over heat. If your engine overheats, don't put cold water into it, you may do a head gasket, wait until it cools then put cold water in, however if you have hot water available (a camp site) put it in, you should be your right to go. If you have a crack in the top tank like these guys, put some temporary radiator repair on (pictured), wait the required set time, when youve filled the radiator tank leave your radiator cap on the first click not tight, so as not to build pressure and get off the beach. This is not a permanent fix get it professionally repaired. Hope this helps.

03.01.2022 On the move early this morning, this black Jeep, clutch slipping, towed out to Woorim car park.

03.01.2022 Mechanical failure can catch you out anytime. Clutch went 16km up the Northern access Track.

02.01.2022 Our new tri-axle heavy duty recovery trailer purchased today, this 4,500kg GVM trailer is necessary given that we have an increased number of offroad recoveries that require a trailer for towing as the vehicle can't be flat towed. Most 4x4's exceed the allowable legal GVM weight for 2000kg trailers. This unit has storage for all our recovery gear, winches, air bag lift system, spare wheels, jacks etc.... It will service on and off road vehicle moves. "The Beast" our 5.2 ltr turbo diesel isuzu NPR300 will tow the trailer, it also has 10 passenger seats. In the interest of keeping costs down. Thanks for looking.
