14.01.2022 SUSPENSION OF AUSTRALIAN ARMY CADET ACTIVITIES OUR CONTRIBUTION TO THE COMMUNITY TO TAKE AFFECT AT MIDNIGHT (2359hrs) on 16 MAR 20. Government and Defence hav...e enacted a series of measures to reduce and slow the risk of Coronavirus (COVID-19) spreading within the Australian Community. The AAC program is undertaken within the community and the Army and Community partnership is at its core. It has been assessed that, at this time, the greatest contribution the AAC can make to our Nation is to suspend all community-based and public cadet activities in order to assist in slowing the spread of COVID-19. This measure will assist in protecting both the wider community and those members of the AAC who are assessed as potentially vulnerable (ie. over 30% of AAC members are in the vulnerable category due to age or specific pre-existing medical conditions). The following activities are suspended: a. All parade nights undertaken in Community Based Units. b. All weekend bivouac and overnight activities. c. All cadet activities undertaken within the community. This includes fund raising, sausage sizzles, and public recruiting activities. d. All ceremonial support activities undertaken within the community. This includes support to ANZAC Day activities. e. All field exercises. This includes the National Adventure Training Award. Key Timings are: a. Suspensions take affect at midnight (2359hrs) on 16 Mar 20. b. These suspension remain in force until 1 May, after which additional constraints may continue to be applied. The AAC is core to the partnership between Army and the Australian Community. Suspending AAC activities at this time is seen as a positive step in supporting the Nation during a period when we all have a moral responsibility to reduce and slow the risk of COVID-19.

10.01.2022 Both of these areas are within 13BN. Please ensure you adhere to social distancing, wash your hands with soap as often as you can and for 20 seconds each time to ensure a proper clean and cover your coughs and sneezes. If you do not feel well, stay home.... get checked by your doctor... Let's not let this spread....

02.01.2022 This ANZAC Day, despite COVID-19 keeping us away from cenotaphs around the region, we will be heading to our own driveways to show our respects to those that served and those that serve still. See the link below from RSL Queensland who have done an article on one of 13BN's Cadets from Anglican Church Grammar School Army Cadet Unit. He is doing his Unit and Battalion proud this ANZAC Day. Well done.
