24.01.2022 Dear all (excusing rank) Please read this entire email and understand it. It is long but very important. We have just had confirmation that we can recommence cadets.... Our first night back will be Wednesday the 12th of August. THIS NIGHT WILL ONLY BE FOR STAFF, CUOs AND NCOs. All other cadets will return on the 19th August. The break has been a very long one and there are a lot of changes to be made. I will need everyone to acknowledge the following in this, both parents and cadets. AAC is the only non-essential military service that the Chief of Defence has allowed to resume. I am aware that everyone has returned to school etc for some time and I am also aware that social distancing does not appear to be a concern in some/most schools. However, whilst parading or attending any cadet activities strict social distancing rules will apply to everyone. This is not negotiable. There will be constant hand washing/sanitising while at any cadet activities. Also not negotiable. Parents/guardians must remain contactable at all times while cadets are parading or attending cadet activities. No cadet will be able to parade if their consent form is not in prior to them attending. Any cadet arriving with no consent form already on the system will be sent home. This is also if they arrive on the night with their consent form. They WILL be returned home if it is not already on the system or been returned to Lt Kirkpatrick. This is also not negotiable. Parents will be required to drop cadets off and remain in their cars while doing so. Also not negotiable. Any person that has been to Sydney or Melbourne recently will not be able to parade until the required time has lapsed. Any person with cold or flu symptoms will not be able to parade. Any person who has been in contact with any person diagnosed with COVID will not be able to attend. Not negotiable. For any new parents etc wishing to bring their child along to join can make themselves known to staff and arrangements will be made to accommodate them for future appointments. The rules and conditions referred to in this email are not of 150ACUs making. This is a National set of rules and we risk disciplinary action if they are not met. I personally do not want the rest of the Nation to be told to shut down because of something we had done. That would not be funny. Still, on a brighter note it will be great to see you all again. It has been way too long of a break. If everyone could just return an ‘ack’ to me and then we shall see the CUOs and NCOs on Wednesday night at 1800hrs. ALSO REMEMBER YOU CANNOT ATTEND IF YOU HAVENT SENT IN THE CONSENT FORM. (email that to [email protected] ) Regards Andrew Capt(AAC) Andrew Bailey OC Gympie 150 ACU Optimum Experiri

08.01.2022 The first unit level training weekend for 2019 was almost a complete success, with the exception of lightning strikes, wind, thunder and a just a few inches of rain cutting short a few activities. During the weekend the unit covered off on Section field formations, Communications training and prac, Navigation training and prac, Shelter construction, Introduction to observations and deductions and Team building activities. All the cadets participated with all training in ...their own way and surely have increased their basic survival skills. Looking forward to our next BIV being the 12Bn BIV on 3rd-6th May.
