21.01.2022 MIniature Goats Australia (MGA) believe that for any breed to succeed it relies on those with experience (the breeds elders) to share their knowledge with othe...rs. MGA breed elders will happily share their management and husbandry practices with others as we know for certain that education benefits everyone; most of all our awesome little goats. Sharing what works and what doesn’t saves breeders/owners time, money and most importantly of all could save an animal from illness or worse, death. Of course your own research is also encouraged. With solid and tried information you can better invest in the health and management of your herd which will enhance your stock and furthermore the breed itself. As a member of MGA conversation and sharing of this knowledge is available at no cost and your questions are most welcome. www.miniaturegoatsaustralia.com #miniaturegoatsaustraliakids #minigoat #miniaturegoatsofinstagram #miniaturegoatstoocute See more

06.01.2022 So you’re thinking of purchasing a miniature goat to join your family, here’s some things you need to know:- *Miniature Goats of all breeds (Australian Miniatur...e, Pygmy, Nigerian Dwarf and Miniature Nubians) are bred for their individual breed traits and of course height. Miniature Goats are 3years old until their adult height can be recorded. During this time they require vaccinations, feeding, foot trimming, testing for diseases and other husbandry aspects that cost. Individual breeders set their own prices but, as a guide Does start at $750, Bucks start at $1000 (bucks are not sold as pets) and Wethers (castrated males) start at $250. *Miniature goats are amazing pets, funny, affectionate and very clever. *Buying a goat is a commitment for around 12years but often longer. *Goats are browsers not grazers so whilst they do eat grass it should not be their only diet. *Miniature Goats cost less than most dogs and ponies so as pets they are equally affordable. *You are wise to purchase two goats because they are herd animals so can be problematic if lonely. *You need a PIC (property Identification Number) by law available from your state Primary Industry body. States seem to have different rules, some charge a fee for a PIC other states don’t. *Goats need a draught free shelter to escape from wind and rain. Solid fencing with well tensioned wire is also advised. *A permit may be required to keep goats in your area even if you live out of town; so it’s best to check before you purchase. *It is advisable to purchase your goat from a registered breeder so you know it’s a miniature goat you are buying and not a baby goat of a larger breed. *Their engaging personalities will please even the fussiest of critics! 05.01.2022 I am a proud founding member of MGA. MGA Members are encouraged always to have their say. MGA have a strong showing group where we nurture new exhibitors and members. The judges we accept into our group become good friends and one of our founding members Murray Grills assists us with breed standards and show rules. We are coming to the end of our 5th year and we’re still evolving.... MGA register Australian Minis, Pygmys, Nigerians Dwarves, and other breeds as members vote on to accept. All these breeds grade up to their own breed ie- whilst we accept cross breeds in from other groups without grade discrimination, these animals are not permitted to be crossbred again to any other breed - they can only be bred to the same cross. Pygmy cross to Pygmy cross or purebred Pygmy, they are NOT permitted to be crossed to Australian Mini. MGA members voted for this. MGA is still resolute to keeping the mini stock pure. PM myself or one of our amazing committee members. See more

01.01.2022 Vistors Welcome Please ensure you practice social distancing and bring hand sanitizer with you. It is recommended that you make a time with us so as only one pick up is happening at a time. We are available this weekend at the stud if it suits you and delivering the following weekend, just not sure which route yet?... **To all potential buyers** Due to the insidious Covid 19 our stud is obviously closed until further notice. This means we get to love those animals due to be picked up soon for a bit longer We will post here for you and those on our waiting list when we feel we can receive visitors again. In the meantime if you have any goat type questions just send a PM, happy to chat. Please, please stay safe and well.
