13.01.2022 -SSVF - The new simplified student visa framework (SSVF) From 1 July 2016 the SSVF will come into effect. Key changes under the SSVF:... - International students will apply for a single Student visa (subclass 500), regardless of their chosen course of study - student guardians will apply for the new Student Guardian (subclass 590) visa . - A new immigration risk framework will be used to guide the evidence of English language and financial capacity that a student needs to provide with their visa application. -------Impact of the SSVF on existing student visa holders------- The SSVF only applies to student visa applications lodged from 1 July 2016 and will not affect the visas of existing student visa holders. Family members of existing student visa holders (subclasses 570-576) will need to apply for a subclass 500 visa if they do not currently hold a student visa and want to join their family member in Australia.

12.01.2022 Simplified Streamlined Visa Framework (SSVF) SSVF to replace SVP from July 1, 2016 Australia has introduced the Simplified Student Visa Framework (SSVF) from July 1, 2016. SSVF has replaced the existing Streamlined Visa Processing (SVP) arrangements and the Assessment Level framework.... The introduction of SSVF will signal a reduction in the number of student visa sub-classes from eight to two (student and guardian). Under the SSVF: - all international students will have to apply for the same a student visa (subclass 500), regardless of their chosen course of study - all international students will be required to apply for their student visa online - Under SSVF, evidentiary requirements will be based on the combined immigration risk of the students country of citizenship and their chosen education provider. The new immigration risk framework will be used to guide the documentary evidence of English language and financial capacity that a student needs to provide with their visa application. What will remain the same under SSVF? - Visa applicants will continue to be assessed against the Genuine Temporary Entrant (GTE) criteria; - DIBP will still have the ability to request additional evidence from applicants at their discretion; - Health and character requirements will still have to be met; - Students will need to have Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC) for the entire duration of their study; AAMVS can help you with all above including enrollment, health insurance etc.

07.01.2022 - SSVF - updates ----------------Course transfers----------------------- From 1 July 2016, a new condition will be introduced which requires all Student (subclass 500) visa holders to maintain enrolment at the same level or a higher Australian Qualification Framework (AQF) level for which they were granted a visa, unless they are undertaking a doctoral degree (AQF10) and transfer to a masters degree (AQF9). Transferring to a lower AQF level course or transferring from an AQF level course to a non-AQF Award course would be in breach of the student visa condition and might result in the visa being cancelled. Students who want to change to a lower level course must apply for, and be granted, a new student visa before they change their course.

02.01.2022 WORKING WHILE STUDYING your rights and limitations: The minimum wage is A$17.70/hour in Australia. Your industry may have its own award, with a higher wage. If you work overtime or odd hours, you should get penalty rates or extra days off.... If you are casual (you work irregular hours), you should be paid more than part or full-time workers. You must be paid for time you spend in training, team meetings, doing a trial shift as well as opening and closing a business. Your wages cannot be substituted with lodging or food You have the right to leave, often paid in the case of part and full-time employees. Part-time workers get leave and benefits pro rata (for example, a worker that works 19 hours a week gets half as much annual leave as a full-time worker. Check your award for meal breaks Do not work more than 40 hours every 2 weeks. This is a visa condition, and you should not have to work this much as a student to get by. Employers can use evidence of this against you. Keep a log book of your work hours including date, start & end times, and breaks given.

All for less than the cost of a new suitcase! 1. Finding the Right Information This is key at the start and during your move. When things change its hard to know where to look for the correct information and what you can actually base real decisions on. We know its about your well-being, so weve put together key tips for you to move forward. 2. Relationship Building Gold Possibly the most important key to having a good move. How do you keep good relationships with both the people who are coming AND the ones staying behind? We have the insight! 3. Meeting New Friends Sounds easy, but its one of the hardest things when you come to a new place and dont have a structured welcome program greeting you. We give you the insight on how to create fun, supportive and lasting friendships on the other side. 4. Homesickness Ive never met an expat who has not had this happen. Sometimes it comes early in the move, sometimes months or years down the track. The key is to know what to do if it happens to you or someone you love. 5. Your Purpose and Next Steps Once we land or a little while after things can get a bit blurry. Questions tend to start popping up. Why did I make this move? How is this move going to help me grow?
