25.01.2022 Today, a volunteers phone has been stolen from our Cheltenham OP SHOP. This is absolutely disgraceful and we are hoping that the person who has taken it understands what they have done and will come to their senses and return it - no questions asked.

25.01.2022 I know we are out of lockdown but I'm sure a lot of you still need a hobby so why not give this a go...

21.01.2022 Help us find Allister and Nasa a home... These boys came to us as strays and have since been diagnosed with FIV, which means they will need to be indoor and the only cats of the household or have access to a secure cat run and rehomed with other FIV+ cats. Just because they came to us with no story doesn't mean they can't write one in a loving home with you. Visit our website to read more about them and fill in an expression of interest form: https://www.aaps.org.au/cats-1

21.01.2022 Kitten season is HERE and we are in need of donations of lots and lots and lots of pet heat pads or hot water bottles to keep the kittens in our care warm and cosy. Heat pads are amazing because they last for 10 hours: https://www.mypetwarehouse.com.au/snugglesafe-microwave-hea If you are able, please donate them to our shelter at 1/132 Bangholme Rd, Dandenong South during office hours (entrance off Mark Anthony Drive).

20.01.2022 Tuppence is the epitome of gorgeous. She's quiet, silky, sweet and once she gets to know you she'll squeal in delight at the mere sight of you. Tuppence has spent 119 days in our care and is now ready for the next stage of her life... the purrrfect home! For more information and to enquire, please read her profile: https://www.aaps.org.au/cats-1

19.01.2022 AAPS Shelter and Vet Clinic are closing to the public from December 25-28th. The animals in our care will be very well looked after by staff and vets who are also planning special Christmas day treats for them all If you have an urgent need, please call an emergency vet or your local council for advice.

19.01.2022 FEEL GOOD FUR-DAY Charlotte had quite a stressful couple of weeks with us at the shelter, after she was surrendered due to no fault of her own. Thankfully it didn't take long to find her the purrfect home... "Charlotte, (or "Lottie" as she seems to have become) is going really well. She has been with us for about a month now. After a nervous start she settled quite quickly and is enjoying herself, very playful - inquisitive, and has been to see the AAPS vet for vaccination. She was 2.6kg on arrival here and now weighs 3.1kg - eating well. You could say that she's officially calling the shots here In summary, all good, no worries."

16.01.2022 FEEL GOOD FUR-DAY Despite the name, Messy (on the right) was always very clean in the kitchen but now she's only allowed to watch... "Her and our other cat are getting along very well, and enjoy causing mischief. She also has an odd obsession with watching me peel potatoes "

15.01.2022 PJ is just shy of his second birthday and we want to give him plenty more to celebrate - Luckily for PJ we have a proven reputation of putting care before costs. He and we would appreciate any support you can give him, follow the link to donate: https://pjs-purpose.raisely.com/

10.01.2022 FEEL GOOD FUR-DAY Malika and Kovu were the cutest mother son duo we've seen in here for ages and once we saw how much they loved each other we couldn't separate them. Thankfully, we found them a home with enough love to go around! "We've renamed them Shadow and Donny. They have settled in amazingly and are already ruling the roost Shadow is extremely affectionate and will put her paw on your leg and meow loudly for pats. Donny is super playful, and they run around all day... playing together and chasing the kids. Both cats are super social and are even interested in visitors. I didn't expect that to be entirely honest. They both allow the kids to pick them up and carry them around and don't fuss at all and just sit at their feet once they've been put down. They just want to be loved all day long. Were you aware that she was still feeding him? I have attached a funny photo of him feeding while hanging off the side of the couch." See more

10.01.2022 Can you help... we are in need of foster carers for some ringworm kittens with cute haircuts. Please call to register your interest in fostering our ringworm kittens, 9798 8415.

09.01.2022 Wowee... over the weekend we had more than 250 applications for kittens. Thank you to everyone who filled in an expression of interest form. We appreciate your support and patience during this busy kitten season. To give a cat in need a furever home, please visit our website: https://www.aaps.org.au/cats-1

08.01.2022 Allister and Archie are a couple of awesome blokes looking for a home (not together)... could you be the one? They are both FIV+ so will need to be the only cats of the household or live with another FIV+ cat. Allister has been with us for 5 weeks but that hasn't put a dampener on his smile, he's still as chatty and loving as ever. Meanwhile, Archie (the big smooch) has spent 2 weeks with us and is now ready for someone to snap him up. Please visit our website to see more about them and to register your interest: https://www.aaps.org.au/cats-1

05.01.2022 Working hard or hardly working Anastasia isn't the best office assistant, luckily she's sooooooo cute.

01.01.2022 FEEL GOOD FUR-DAY Barnaby and Lila were left behind when their owners moved house but luckily the neighbours realised what had happened and brought them to us before anything bad occurred. They are now both happy in their new furever home... "We have renamed them, Barnaby is now Podrick and Lila is now Taco. We are absolutely loving having them with us and think they are loving it too! We get some really nice afternoon sun and they love curling up together or stretching ...out and soaking it up. They took about 2 days to get comfortable with us and since then have just been our little shadows. When they’re feeling active, their favourite things is to chase around the laser pointer. They love a good snooze (as do we) and also get some 4:30am zoomies around the lounge room. Podrick loves to sleep in between us and sometimes in our pillow case. Taco loves sitting on his head which he for some reason seems to enjoy We cannot get enough of them and are eternally grateful that we could take them home." See more
