16.01.2022 Looking for some artsy fun this weekend? Friday night sees the launch of Tyler Dan's eagerly anticipated exhibition, 'Follow the Thread' featuring her intuitive abstract art taking place at Sally McDonald's fabulous SMAC Space Studio in Tighes Hill. Again, there is entertainment aplenty at the Newcastle Art Gallery with live performances and workshops on Friday night. This weekend also sees the end of the very popular exhibition, Loved, by Jill Orr at ASW-ART SYSTEMS WICKHAM.

16.01.2022 We've seen a large number of small works pass through in the past few weeks! What we have seen so far has been amazing so we can't wait to see the whole exhibition in it's entirety!! Opening this Saturday at 3pm, the Small Works exhibition at Boltspace Maitland is a collection of 30 local artists. Opening times are every Friday and Saturday 9.30 till 3.30. This show is a pre-Christmas special and runs up until Christmas.

13.01.2022 After so many amazing art excursions happening around Newcastle lately, our little 11 year old artist was inspired by The Big Picture Fest and artists such as Ellie Hannon Artist. She asked Aaron to take her to Bunnings and bought herself a pot of paint. Then, by herself, she painted one of her bedroom walls in order to create her own mural! 06.01.2022 What’s on this weekend? A massive line up starting with the opening of exhibition ‘Nature Camp’ at Onwards Studio on Friday night, featuring the works of local artist, @hollyleonardson. Saturday sees the New Annual ‘Artist Open Studio Trail’ starting at Hudson Street Hum where they will be working with all visitors to create a giant community artwork curated by artist Kiasmin. This collaborative workshop is an all ages, free event with all materials supplied to create an amaz...ing artwork celebrating Newcastle’s creative richness. From there you are invited to make your way to Newcastle Art Space any time between 1 and 5 for ‘The Big Clay Out’ - an afternoon of muddy fun. Local ceramic artist, Kara Wood Ceramics will demonstrate and collaborate ‘Heads Up’, a community collaboration in clay. There will be a curated exhibition ‘I’m from Earth’ as well as a little artisan market popping up for one day only. Finally, The Creator Incubator will host the closing event of the New Annual ‘Artist Studio Trail’ from 5pm. Here you have the opportunity to wander the extensive collection artists and makers studios. You will be able to purchase directly from artists, enjoy demonstrations and listen to the soulful music of Georgie Jones. In addition to these events, we also have the Newcastle Printmakers Workshop ‘New Print 21: Celebrating Printmaking in Newcastle’ festival, running over Fri, Sat and Sun. With various exhibitions, demonstrations, experiences, artist talks along with live music and a community collaborative print, this is sure to be a fascinating experience.
