25.01.2022 Our obstacles are always beyond our conscious mind. Attempting to change an outcome without first addressing the underlying behavioural obstructions and their cause is ultimately, making the likelihood of long-term success highly unlikely. 24.01.2022 Everyone has a story It can take a lot for someone to slow down, analyse and come to the realisation of - is the way they are living their life NOW a reflection of how they want to be living their life tomorrow. For many, their realisation comes from the form of an accumulation of stress OR over-exertion and for others its the simple realisation that what they are doing now is no longer serving them anymore I hit my realisation late last year and although I was eating reasona...bly well and training reasonably ok, the accumulation of the emotional and mental stress of failure and letting other people down chipped away at my body's function and my inhibition to think or feel. This left me feeling wired, anxious and over-stimulated. It wasn't until I got real with myself and took control of my emotional state and what I was doing with my body that I started to see improvements in my conscious and sub-conscious being. I know what it’s like to be in a high stress environment, I know what it's like to question one's worth, I know what it's like to be heavily relied upon and I also know what it's like to place that burden of responsibility onto one's self. I’m here today to show you that it’s not too late for change. I’m a coach, an educator and founder of Shedlock Training Systems! and I’m here now to share my story and my knowledge to educate and support you with changing your lifestyle so you can live life to the fullest and be the ultimate version of yourself. Choose a coach who cares about your goals but isn't above them Choose a coach who will guide you on your journey but not show you what's on the other side... Choose a coach who is there to support you but not give you the solution. Choose a coach based on the time and effort taken to develop a logical system or skill set Choose a coach based off of the time and effort put into their research and results as opposed to their anecdotal views, behaviours and abilities DO NOT CHOOSE A COACH BASED ON PHYSICAL APPEARANCE AND ABILITIES "How does one judge if an instructor is good? Rather, this question should be rephrased to read - how can one judge if a method or system is good? After all, one cannot learn the speed or power of an instructor, but one can assess his skill. Thus, the soundness of the system, and not the instructor, is to be considered; the instructor is merely there to point the way." 18.01.2022 Imagine wanting to climb to the peak of a mountain to check the view on the other side - Along your walk to the bottom of that mountain you pass others who have trekked that same mountain - As you pass them you stop to talk about their journey and how they reached that peak.... - As you listen you begin to hear that the journey to the top varied from climber to climber - One experienced heavy terrain, another harsh weather and the third clear skies with a silky smooth climb - Despite how hard, easy or complicated the journey to their peak was the view over the mountain still remained the same... 17.01.2022 BODY RECOMPOSITION One thing I often hear when meeting someone is that they want to lose body fat and increase lean muscle mass at the same time - There are times when it is easier vs. times when it is a lot tougher and harder to come by!!... - The newer you are to structured dieting and training the easier it is relative to the more experienced you are to structured dieting and training the harder it will be to accomplish - 2 years ago we analysed and restructured @oli.wilde situation to maximise growth and decrease body fat. 06.01.2022 EMBRACE CHANGE - Change is hard because it stretches us and pulls us out of our comfort zone. It forces us to come out of the known and head into the unknown, and that is always a little unnerving. - But the fact remains that in order to become everything we are meant and want to become, we are going to have to embrace change. 02.01.2022 "I don't have all day to exercise like you do" is something we hear all the time. It's a common misconception about being a gym owner or trainer. Firstly, I don't train with or alongside clients. I coach them. The moment I put my headphones on and touch a weight I am absorbed in my own time away from the world of coaching which is not what people are paying for... It's like me saying "you are a stay at home mum, how do you NOT have time?" So just like most people I have to ma...ke time in my day for training. At this point I usually get a comment about how work is more important. I am always particularly perplexed by this reference as we spend years of our lives gaining an education to work in a field that we will retire from BUT yet - our health will never retire so this is where I say - "great to know and yes work is important and I hope you're saving a lot of money because the reality is that you're going to need it for your bypass surgery if you don't take the time to do some regular exercise, eat properly and move frequently on a daily basis" In other words, make the fucking time If you don't make the time to exercise you're going to be forced to make the time for health care, surgery, and maybe the biggest time waster of all - death.
