24.01.2022 Let’s talk about R E P R E S S E D M E M O R I E S Memory repression serves as a defense mechanism against traumatic events ... You can’t remember what happened, but you feel it and store it in your body So, what’s behind the countless reports of people forgetting major events, especially those that took place early in life? There are a few theories that might explain why this happens... 1. Dissociation People often cope with severe trauma by dissociating, or detaching from what’s happening. This detachment can blur, alter, or block the memory of the event Some experts believe children who experience abuse or other trauma may not be able to create or access memories in the usual way. They have the memories of the event, but they may not recall them until they’re older and better equipped to deal with the distress 2. Forgetting You may not remember an event until something later in life triggers your recollection. But it’s not really possible to know whether your brain unconsciously repressed the memory or you consciously buried it, or simply forgot Old memories you’re already aware of might take on different meanings and make more sense later in life. These new meanings may emerge during therapy or simply as you get older and gain life experience When you realize the significance of a memory you didn’t previously consider traumatic, you might then become extremely distressed by it The most interesting thing about repressed memories is that no matter which method your mind uses to ‘protect’ you... your body remembers! The body really does keep the score and checking in on how you ‘feel’ in your body and what emotions you’re storing is a great place to start in any healing journey

21.01.2022 Intuition isn’t the part of you that thinks, it’s the part of you that KNOWS I find it hard to explain how to tap into intuition without first having someone understand the quantum world {if this is you, go watch my IG Live: I AM... Energy} Once you understand how deeply connected we are to this universe it becomes easier to understand how powerful we really are... If the part of you that THINKS is too loud, then try some of these techniques to help you connect to intuition/the quantum/creator/your conscious mind {whatever you wanna call it} 1. Meditate. I know, everyone keeps bangin’ on about it... but seriously, if you want to get out of your thinking mind and into consciousness ~ meditate. 2. Take a deep breath. Surrender your thoughts and then ask your body a question. Start with something simple like ‘what should I eat this morning for maximum energy and vitality today’. Go with the first thing that comes up. Don’t question it, overthink it or judge it. Just go with it. The more that you can trust it on the little things, the more likely you are to trust it on the big things 3. Get creative! Being creative and in the flow allows your thinking mind to quiet and your conscious mind to activate. The more regularly you enter into the conscious mind, the louder your intuition will become

07.01.2022 The elusive B A L A N C E We often hear people talk about ‘balance’ and how important finding balance is... but actually finding it, that’s another story. To me, searching for balance is a recipe for disaster. This idea that we are supposed to find and stay in a place of balance is actually difficult for many to achieve.... We often set out to achieve something with great intentions, fall down and get back up again. Inspiration, energy and enthusiasm comes in waves! When I let go of the word ‘balance’ and brought in the word ‘flow’ everything shifted. All of a sudden I wasn’t striving for something that was actually causing me great frustration in an attempt to constantly try and ‘find it’. To flow is to feel into where you are and what you need in each moment. It is to trust your body and your intuition. This is your permission slip to stop searching for your balance. Once you start listening to your body, you won’t need to schedule in your diet/meals/fitness and all the things you struggle to stick to... Your body will tell you what it needs each day so that you can just... well, flow

05.01.2022 We are all searching for happiness. Even when we think we aren’t, we really are. Some think they will find it in love. Others in jobs, money, status, children, family, friends, clothing, food...... I think happiness is something that we have had all along. Happiness {to me} has become more about what I am ready to lose. Trauma, beliefs and conditioning have created these layers {or obstacles} for us to venture through to come back to... ourselves! Maybe we need to strip back these layers that we have built and with each layer we remove, we become closer to this elusive happiness An #unbecoming

01.01.2022 What are you ready to let go of with this full moon? What have you been holding onto that is no longer serving you? This full moon is like no other. For me, it will be the biggest release of my entire life. Big call, I know!... Deep shame, guilt and suffering are something that I am finally {well and truly} ready to leave in the past. I’m not saying the road from here will be easy but with this full moon I fully intend to release all trauma from my past and begin a new life... a new cycle that is my very own! This new cycle is a clean slate. It’s putting the past in the past, forgiving, and choosing to move forward in life with strength, courage and joy With this new cycle I get to CHOOSE who I want to be and I will no longer be governed by my old limiting programs and traumas Mantra: I now allow myself to become who I was truly meant to be Epic photo by @caitmiersphotography
