However, going that 1 step further and optimizing your placement dimensions can help the performance of your campaigns.... Take a look at the campaign stats below with some retargeting ads we ran for an e-commerce brand last month. Each product ran 2 of the same audiences - though for 1 of them, we optimized the creative for "Stories" - full screen viewing. As you can see, the Stories ads outperformed the general placements nearly every time. If you have the resources, it pays to go the extra mile.

Custom Audiences allow you to create a seamless buyers journey and nurture your customers until they are ready to buy. Lookalike audiences take FB ads to a whole another level. ... Imagine telling Facebook, "here's is a list of people who have already bought from me, find me more people like that"

If you only run 1 ad, you won't realize your audiences true potential as you haven't tested any other variables that could increase your ROI.... Sometimes all it takes is changing the image or CTA. 11.01.2022 Let's chat about Lookalike Audiences for a sec. Yes, they can be a wonderful thing, though it all depends on your audience quality. Feed it poor data and you may get poor results.... As you can see, I've been testing an Interest Audience and a 1% Website Lookalike Audience - with the latter producing more than double the cost per result. Due to budget & time constraints, it's full steam ahead with the Interest Audience; though it can also be worthwhile to test different Lookalike percentages when setting up campaigns.

08.01.2022 Remember to take advantage post scheduling times. Rather than having your ads running all day and night, only running certain ads for peak periods will save you some ad spend. Works really well for those in the hospitality industry before peak meal times.

08.01.2022 For the most part, likes and comments are simply vanity metrics. HOWEVER, they can serve a great purpose with paid ads. The more comments you have, the higher perceived value that post is to somebody scrolling on any social media platform.... It gets them to take notice and you have a higher chance of getting them to take whatever action you'd like. Now I don't mean running ads to India or Africa and getting some cheap social proof on your ads. You still need to have a good offer and not sell s**t. FB will also reward you for having an engaging post/ad as it keeps people on the platform... aka lower CPM's. An easy way to build social proof fast is to reply to every comment you get.

07.01.2022 So I got this text from a client last week... The results we've been able to achieve have been astronomical in the 6 short months of working together. 07.01.2022 Imagine telling someone, "this is a list of people that have bought from me in the past. Find me more that are similar to that." Pretty powerful stuff right? That is essentially what a Lookalike Audience is. It finds people that have similar interests to those have interacted with you in the past (ie a custom audience).... Facebook is able to do this through the hundreds upon thousands of data points it has on each user to make all the content they see relevant and personalized.

Full disclosure, Dan is actually my new housemate though when I first got access to his ads account, I saw he was only running 1 audience and 1 ad for weeks on end. Through split testing different audiences and creatives, in our first month working together, Menace has had their best month on record. ... I can't take all the credit though. With the time they've been able to save from not having to watch their ads daily, they've upped their social media organic posting to tie in beautifully with paid ads. Upwards from here.

02.01.2022 Some more crazy stats I'm seeing while running campaigns during this time. I've never had CPM's this low. This shows, it only cost us $1.92 for our ad to be viewed every 1000 times.... I know times are tough and uncertain. HOWEVER, if you have some budget and can afford to invest some $$ in brand awareness or lead generation for your pipeline down the line, now is a fantastic time for certain industries. 01.01.2022 Quick tip for ya'll. Whenever you run an "Engagement" or "Video Views" campaign, be sure to untick the Audience Network under manual placements if using a Video as the creative. The reason being is any custom audiences you create from that video can only include Video Views on Facebook and Instagram - not on external sites.... This can cause major issues if you intend to retarget everybody that has watched a certain portion of your video part of your funnel. On the other hand, if mass brand awareness is what you after - go ahead and click that Audience Network button for some cheap AF video views .

01.01.2022 Video Views, Reach, Conversion... which objective do you use? When starting out with FB ads, it's best to keep things simple and choose the objective with whatever it is you trying to achieve. As an example, let's say you want people to download an eBook through a landing page and you have a video to promote it.... Even though you have a video, a "Video Views" campaign will only get you a lot of video views (as the name suggests). A better strategy would be to use a "Conversion" campaign, which as the name suggests, is optimized to show your ad to people who are more likely to convert. Down the line, an advanced strategy could be to use a "Video Views" campaign and then retarget that that audience with a "Conversion" campaign - but that's a story for another day.
