17.01.2022 June 15th-21st is Men's Health Week. It's time we take time out to support all the dads out there as often we focus on mums as they navigate their breastfeeding... journey. Navigating life with a new baby can be difficult for both parents, and post-natal depression can just as real for dads as it can be for mums. Common physical signs might include: - tiredness - lack of appetite - trouble sleeping, or sleeping and waking at unusual times weight loss or gain. You might feel: - sad - guilty or ashamed - cranky, anxious and angry - isolated or disconnected from your partner, friends or family - unable to enjoy things you used to find fun or pleasurable. (https://raisingchildren.net.au//antenatal-postnatal-depres) These are just some of the symptoms you might be feeling if suffering from postnatal depression. If you are feeling like this and it lasts for more than 2 weeks, it would be helpful to check in with your medical practitioner.

03.01.2022 So some of the new members might ask who we are and what is our organisation about. Well we are volunteer run and are basically here to support mums and families. As Breastfeeding Counsellors we have done certified training, but we are also mums as well. Our local group is here to support each other and provide information in a casual space, no judgement. So please join us in a fortnight for a catch up, meet some new friends and join our Aba village.
