19.01.2022 Go Bargo! This resilient town is flourishing after a crazy summer of bushfires and covid-19. #Bargo is packed with things to do and has a great community buzz.... I spoke with Lucia from BARGO DINGO SANCTUARY where they fought the fires and with the help of the locals, came back from the brink. Now open to the public, they are helping these amazing Aussie, native animals stay protected. Then onto the stunning #Nepean Dam for a dose of nature and a picnic with friends and family, before heading to Bargo Homemade Pies and Cafe for a famous pie (not to mention delicious). Finally, a massive shout out to Our Community Pantry Bargo who cater for customers from Campbelltown down to Goulburn. Helping the environment by saving food from going to landfill while providing it back to their community at a hugely reduced cost. What an awesome initiative!! See more

05.01.2022 Today Abacare Counselling is officially 6 years old. It's been an interesting adventure meeting some wonderful people and helping them on their journey through life, and yes there have been some I would rather have not met, but they are also on their journey. So, we started out as an office in Narellan where I really only did the final year of my Masters, before moving into the BEC in Smeaton Grange where Alex took me under her wing. This is where I honed my skills as a coun...sellor and slowly grew in confidence. I then moved in with the lovely Deborah Lloyd in Broughton Street, Camden. Here the practice really started to grow, and I needed to expand in time and space. I then moved to 5/49 Argyle Street, Camden where I took on my first student, Narlene. While Narlene has gone on to bigger and better things with a major charity, she is still seeing occasional clients and I look forward to catch ups. From there I went to 82 Argyle Street, Camden where I am still today having signed my second lease. During this time, I again took on another student, Libby, who also contributed to the business growth. Libby is seeing clients during school hours. I also have access to 2 fabulous Art Therapists Sharon Veness and Agnes Brown. We attempted to expand by taking on a second suite, but COVID-19 put a stop to that for now In between I also operated from Campbelltown with Completely Aligned in Park Central and then with Evolution Health. Working with Reena and her team from Completely Aligned was inspiring as was working with Melissa and her team at Evolution Health. I thank you all for contributing to my experiences as a counsellor and in particular, as a business owner. I completed training as a Sandplay Practitioner, a Clinical Supervisor as well as completing a Graduate Diploma in Family Dispute Resolution Practice. Along with the counselling, I have also enjoyed being a member of various networking groups including SWNG Narellan, Bounty Business Referrals, the Greater Narellan Chamber of Commerce, Campbelltown Chamber of Commerce and Women with Altitude. I also run a Peer Support group in Macarthur for Counsellors, as well as having been the Supervisor for the PCA (Professional Counselling Association) Macarthur Branch. I am also one of three convenors for the Australian Counselling Association’s Macarthur Branch that is slowly getting off the ground. So where does Abacare come from? Many years ago, in a State far, far away (Victoria) I started my first business and had to get to the top of the Yellow Pages, the book, to be seen. Hence Abacare Home Pet Feeding Service, was born and 25+ years later it rises again. I hope you have enjoyed my journey as much as I have. Thank you
