15.01.2022 Hey everyone, Well, this is a pretty shit situation we all find ourselves in right now. I wrote something back in March and never imagined that it would be much worse come August. We are being tested as a society and are just trying to keep our heads above water. Right now at Abacus, we are grateful that we are allowed to continue to operate albeit, at a reduced capacity. We have got this far and will continue to fight on. It is far from ‘business as usual’ and I’m a bit over... reading that from companies. There is nothing usual about where we find ourselves. But, we can’t do much about it, all we can do is do as is asked of us, whether or not we agree with it. We need to look out for each other, everyone’s mental wellbeing is critical right now. Got a spare 5 or 10 minutes? Pick up the phone, shoot someone a message to see how they are, even if you haven’t spoken to them in months or even years. 05.01.2022 I’ve been mulling over this one as I’m conscious of talking about good news when so many not only in our industry but in the greater community are suffering through no fault of their own. I do though understand that some good news can show people that there is hope and also think, if they did it, why can’t I? For those who have been to our factory, you know that we’ve needed to move to larger premises for many years but when is the right time? With our lease up in November a...nd our landlord not being the most pleasant individual to deal with (this is the nice version after all), the search begun and I’m stoked to say our new home will be at 10 Winterton Rd Clayton from mid November. Now, it’s a fair comment that we’ve had to do a bit of work to the old darl but, already after a week of work we are transforming it into a thing of beauty. We will no longer need to decide if we are running a machine or wrapping a car each day, needing to power on the generator to get enough power into the machines or move tables and cars in order to get to the pallet racks. You’ll be happy to know that an even bigger bar area is going in and even more Simpsons related stuff that probably only I find funny Thank you to everyone who has been a part of our journey over the years as you’ve all made us the company that we are today. We look forward to welcoming everyone to the office in the coming months when we are allowed as there will always be a cold drink in the fridge to share and catch up with everyone face to face as we miss this so much.
