25.01.2022 On the weekend at GTB I was presented with a lovely gift, a clock, for the time I have spent on the branch executive. At the presentation I didnt say much as I am not one for saying much in public. So I would like to thank all members for your support over the years in my roles as Score Recorder and Branch Controller. I am so overwelmed to receive such a beautiful gift for something I enjoyed and happily gave my time to for the sport I love. A huge thank you to the branch executive current and all I have had the pleasure to work with in the past. Too many to thank. You are all like having another family. I am not going anywhere and you will still see me around at shoots, helping where I can and maybe getting up to a little mischief at times. Yours Sincerely Wendy Gallagher

20.01.2022 To all, You are all know doubt aware that the CoViD19 restrictions have been eased and that we are now allowed to hunt, fish and gather in small groups. It is also important to note that whilst the Government has lifted the ban, I recommend that we all wait for further advice from ABA with regards to insurance before we all rush out and start hunting or reopening clubs. I know they are following these up and I would expect them to put out a statement early next week. History ...has shown us that the second wave of these pandemics are potentially more deadly than the first and some countries that have eased restrictions are already seeing this, so common sense stills needs to prevail. The health and well-being of our members is still the most important concern. https://www.dhhs.vic.gov.au/coronavirus-covid-19-daily-upda https://www.dhhs.vic.gov.au/sport-cultural-and-recreational Please pass this on as appropriate. Regards Steve Old Branch Controller Greater Victoria & Tasmania ABA

20.01.2022 Due to unforseen circumstances Stawell Bowhunters have cancelled their Branch Shoot in June. Please remove this shoot from your Branch Shoot calendar. Sorry for any inconvenience and hopefully we will see them on the shoot calendar next year.

10.01.2022 Hi all, I hope everyone is staying home, safe and not going insane. It's a perfect time to get some practice in; provided you have room to do it safely. As you all well know archery has shutdown for a period of time to allow the authorities to get control of the COVID-19 situation and to allow them to provide treatment to the most urgent cases without over-loading the health care system. The following News Release was issued today and I am posting it here to make you all awar...e of it. I'm putting this up for your information so there is no point in getting on here and ranting and raving about the validity or common sense of the hunting ban. The fact is that the ban is in place and I would expect all members to put the health of their family and love ones above the need to put a few animals on the ground. The animals aren't going anywhere and will still be out there waiting when this has blown over. In the meantime stay safe, stay well and stay home. https://www.dhhs.vic.gov.au/media-release-coronavirus-updat
