25.01.2022 Would anyone have a gazebo similar to this one that we could borrow for a few hours for RSPCA Cup Cake Day @ Abbett Park on Sat 24 Oct? We already have one but need a second... worried all the icing will melt if it’s a warm day. Thanks!
25.01.2022 I took some doggie photos on Monday night (potential candidates for the mural?). Here's a few of them - If you spot your dog make sure you let us know!

23.01.2022 Froth coffee was at Abbett Park for our fundraising Cupcake Day for RSPCA and was awesome. Please help Emma out by signing her petition to sell coffee at Peasholm Dog Beach.

23.01.2022 "Ninja Harris" has been found near Coles Scarborough and is now at Perth Veterinary Specialists on Selby St in Osborne Park. We see Ninja and Bella at the park fairly often, but don't now how to contact their owner. If anyone knows them, can you please give them this information ASAP (and reply to this post so we can keep people updated). Thanks.
22.01.2022 Anyone recognize this lost gal?
22.01.2022 What an amazing effort from everyone involved at Abbett Dog Park's RSPCA Cupcake Day. So far we have raised $1,142.80 which is awesome! If you didn't get a chance to help with fundraising today, you can still donate at https://www.rspcacupcakeday.com.au//fundrais/abbettdogpark. It's for a great cause - please dig deep.

We are shooting on the 19th of November and would require the dogs to be on set for roughly 4 hours, time TBC. The owner will get paid $500 for their time. If you have a puppy and adult dog that suits please call Megan on 0414 814 233 ASAP, all submissions must be in by Thursday COB.

21.01.2022 This dog is currently at Abbett Park and seems to be down here on his own. No collar/name dog. Anyone recognize him?
21.01.2022 This is Derek and he is awesome! He is not a dog owner, yet he has probably picked up more dog poo at Abbett Park than any of us who have dogs. Why does he do it? Because he wants to make sure our park stays clean and "poo-free" for everyone who uses it. I'm sure we are all guilty of missing the occasional doggy deposit (they can be very sneaky at times, and we can also be easily distracted). So let's all try to help Derek (and all of the other park users) out. If you notice... that a dog owner hasn't seen their dog pooing, let them know so they can pick it up (you can even give them one of your poo bags if they don't have one). If you see a poo that has been left behind - pick it up (it will make up for the ones that you might have missed). Thanks Derek - we promise we'll try to be better!
20.01.2022 https://www.facebook.com/donate/2270956579899451/?fundraiser_source=external_url Sadly this is one of our Abbett Dog Park pups so any donations would help in a big way towards Torrens massive vet bill. Let show how awesome our dog park community really is. No amount too small!!!
18.01.2022 Our 6th annual RSPCA Cupcake Day is this Saturday at Abbett Dog Park in Scarborough from 2-5pm. 18.01.2022 RSPCA Cupcake Day is tomorrow! The weather looks pretty good, Emma from Froth Coffee will have her van there, a dog toy distributor has donated some toys for us to sell to help raise money, and a pet photographer will be there as well. Oh, and there will be lots of yummy cupcakes to purchase (don't forget to bring some along if you're a bit of a baker - the more, the better). See you all there from 2:00pm!
17.01.2022 Cupcake Day Update: After a few late donations our total raised for RSPCA Cupcake Day is an incredible $1,295! Once again, a huge thank you to everyone who took part, whether it was baking, selling, buying or eating, your contribution has helped us achieve another great result this year. If anyone has any suggestions on how we can make this event bigger and better (to raise more money) please let us know

08.01.2022 Time is running out! "The City of Stirling has commissioned local mural artist Kerise Delcoure to create a public artwork in our very own Abbett Park, to be installed in January 2021. The fun and vibrant mural will include flora and fauna from the area and feature a number of local dogs that regularly frequent Abbett Park. If you are interested in having your dog(s) considered for inclusion in the mural, please post a high quality image and a very short blurb telling a little bit about your dog and their connection to Abbett Park. Images should be clear and preferably full-length. Action shots are encouraged! Submissions will close on Friday 4 December at 5pm."
07.01.2022 A local artist will be painting a mural on a wall that faces into Abbett Park, and it will have a dog theme!!! The artist is after good quality photos of regular Abbett Park dogs so she will have a good selection to choose from. If you'd like your furry friend to be in with a chance of being included in the artwork, post a photo and quick description here and we'll make sure she gets to see it. Be quick - the selections will be made by the end of November. The artist's name is Kerise Delcoure - check out her Instagram page for examples of her awesome work!

06.01.2022 Hi All. Ange has lost her Oakley sunnies at the park this morning (Sunday). If you find a pair of Oakley Frogskins with a clear frame and pink/purple lenses can you please reply to this post. Thanks.
05.01.2022 Is the phone number on your dog's name tag correct? Are you sure? You might want to have a look and confirm that. A park regular came home to find her dog missing (it had been scared by the lightning and managed to get out of the yard). After a frantic search we found her safe and well with a nearby neighbour. The rescuer had been calling the number on the tag, but the person answering insisted that his dog was next to him and that he had had that number for 10 years! A simple error by the person engraving the tag caused a period of unfortunate heartache for our local dog-lover. Check the number on the tag - just in case!

03.01.2022 ** NEW UPDATE** Gus & Beau have gone to an amazing home... filled with loads of love & happiness. Theyve hit the doggy jackpot. For those that were concerned a...bout who I was giving the boys away to, I know the family they have gone to. We have updates & photos and have been encouraged to visit them whenever we need to. We couldnt ask for anything more really. They really are in a better place. Ive attached an updated of photo of them and Beau is actually smiling. Its just magical and they are now getting the life they deserve. My apologies if I have not responded to all of your messages. Ive been trying to get through them all...but there are so many that I thought it best to respond here. I received hundreds of offers to help out...Some of there were to take one dog, to take both dogs, to babysit whenever we needed it, even an offer of walking the dogs daily so we could keep the boys but at the same time they get the attention they deserve... that was just amazing. The response was overwhelming & Im very appreciative to all those that spread the word. I actually felt terrible that I couldnt give a Gus or Beau to all of those that asked. I was recommended by many of the helpful people out there, that if I couldnt find a home, then I could try a no kill shelter (which I was unaware of)... so for those that wanted to take the dogs or for those that were looking for a rescue dog, I have attached a photo with some of the names of the shelters I was given... Dogs are so worth it, especially when you rescue them. Again, thank you all so much for helping me out. Im forever grateful. ****UPDATE: BEAU & GUS HAVE A WONDERFUL NEW FOREVER HOME. **** Thank you so much for everyones help in getting the word around. There are so many wonderful people willing to help and Its blown me away. I honestly feel bad I cant give them to everyone that said yes. The boys are going to a beautiful home & will be just as loved. Knowing that feels amazing! THANK YOU AGAIN TO EVERYONE FOR YOUR HELP! HI ALL, my brother-in-law has two beautiful Groodles (Golden Retriever x Poodle) that are about 4 1/2 years old. Their names are Beau & Gus. Due to the fact he is now a widowed father of 3 & does shift work, makes life a little harder. The dogs now sit at home all day long which is standard for working families, but then they are also left there all night long when shift work kicks in. Its not the best life for them. They get love & attention when the family are home but its not often these days and its with a heavy heart that he needs to find them a new home. I wish I had the capacity to keep them as they are absolutely adorable. They are big dogs but dont let the size get in the way as they are gentle giants. They love kids and just love to have cuddles. All they ever want is to sit there and snuggle with you. Theyre so affectionate, super smart and obedient. These two dogs are brothers and have been together since birth and as you can see in the photos they are inseparable. Im desperately trying to find someone that would take both of the brothers. My brother-in-law has tried to find a good home for them but has had no luck, so by the end of the week, he is taking the dogs to the RSPCA. Im shattered because I would hate for them to be separated but would also hate for them to be put to sleep if no one wanted them. Beau & Gus are part of the family which makes this job so tough & heartbreaking & it will be another loss that well all feel but if I can find them an amazing forever home then its much better than the alternative. So PLEASE, can you spread the word or ask friends, even friends of friends if anyone would be interested in taking these amazing dogs. They were purchased from a breeder as pups (we cant find the papers though). Goes without saying, they are for free so long as they go to a loving forever home. If you think you might know someone thats interested then please pass this on or share. Thank you for taking the time to read this. Please see attached photos from pups to now. Dogs are located in Sydney Groodles New South Wales Groodles Groodles in Australia

02.01.2022 Hi All. Here's some info from the artist who will be doing the mural: "A life-long passion for art has led me to a career as an artist and educator, where I have first-hand experience of the positive impact that art can have on individuals and communities. Art has the capacity to challenge our understanding of ourselves, others and the world around us; a catalyst which can provoke thought, feeling and conversation. I am process-oriented in my approach to art-making, with a l...ove for layers, repetition and detail. My background in Fibre Art/Textiles makes me a lover of pattern and colour. I enjoy creating stylised, graphic and playful nature-based compositions, with particular emphasis on plants and animals native to Western Australia. My art practice includes public art murals, private commissions and workshops in schools.
