25.01.2022 I'm celebrating a very important milestone today. A one year anniversary of employing this amazing lady. She has the fun job of explaining all that I do! She is the bubbly face and voice of South West Mindfulness. She is the Guardian of the workphone. She protects me from myself. I can almost guarantee a good telling off once a week for over committing myself ... She is my sounding board and isn't afraid to say 'No Abbey' She is my guinea pig everytime I have attended a new course or a new meditation technique. She gives it the tick of approval. She has personally booked over 500 client hours. Impromptu babysitter. She effortlessly connects with children when I need to speak with Mum or Dad alone in a session. As first point of contact she has provided quality support and comfort to clients who have been overwhelmed on their journey for help. Thank you Candice. I would not be where I am today without you. Your professionalism, initiative and wisdom are so appreciated not only by me but all of the children, teens families and individuals that I work with I can't wait to see what happens in this next 12 months! 25.01.2022 I used to teach this song at the beginning of my Mindfulness and Meditation classes. I just Love it

23.01.2022 Best article I've seen yet! Thank you Joelene Lavrick. The lure of the 'productivity porn', the scramble to still be doing. Time to just surrender. This is a process

21.01.2022 One of my favourite animations on mindfulness. Good one for our teenagers this week!

21.01.2022 This has been years in the making. I remember visiting the studio in Perth when I was considering leaving teaching to support teens wellbeing. They have a fabulous formula and now our regional areas can access the classes! Worth checking out

20.01.2022 Another great app! Thank you Kristy Hitchens for showing me. I've had several clients who used to sleep well but after the lockdown they struggle to fall asleep. Worth exploring!

20.01.2022 In accordance with current lockdown requirements all appointments this week will need to be rescheduled. I will be in touch during the week to organise this. If you have an appointment this week you should have already received a text message from us giving you an option to reschedule or organise an appointment via Zoom. ... Sincere apologies for the inconvenience. Stay safe! Candice

20.01.2022 This is so me this week. Huge thank you to ALL of my clients, especially my teenagers who have refrained from eye rolling at me (Not that I would have seen it anyhow ) when we set up our zoom sessions It's been so lovely to continue to coach during a time when we need it most

18.01.2022 Educating people about managing stress is what I do. As I have been using and practising all of the skills and tools for myself (sometimes spectacularly unsuccessfully!) as I have been home schooling three children My thoughts have turned to the Teachers and the I.T staff during this crazy time. I had started to create a post for Teachers to manage their stress levels as they navigate an unprecedented time in the Education System. I reflected on what would be the most ...important message for this special group of people. And I realised that what Teachers actually need right now, is to know how much we value them. One powerful antidote for stress is.. love. That’s it. During a time when we are physically disconnected we can still show how much we love our teachers. So, my team wanted to show all teachers how much we love and appreciate you. How grateful we are for all your hard work. For your support, video calls, phone calls and messages. For going above and beyond. We want you to really feel it. If you are a home schooling parent please comment below and give a warm fuzzy (a special thank you) for your childs teacher or school. Lets show them some love! A huge thank you to all the parents who joined in the making of this special video it has been a blast. Seeing all the creativity from your gorgeous children has been beautiful. I'm so grateful to all of you A very special thank you to my incredible P.A. Candice Lyle, who has just rolled with the changes during this time and picked up any challenge I have given her. This video was possible because of her xxx Abbey Piggott Facilitator | BExHSc, GdipEd, GDipCoach South West Mindfulness Mobile +61 423035588 | [email protected]

15.01.2022 A huge thank you to the lovely staff at Bunbury Senior High for welcoming me yesterday. Especially to the person who took pics (I'm only in two the rest are the other amazing workshops being held!) I shared the science and benefits of Mindfulness and Meditation. Ready for a calm and confident Term 3. Calm and confident is a big deal as a teacher. Just saying....

08.01.2022 For my teens YOU being YOU is where the magic happens

08.01.2022 A few months ago I posted about how parents can use anchoring and our sense of smell to support a feeling of calm in our children (April 28th 2020). From this video the lovely ladies from Young Living Emma Curulli and Katie Bashford invited me to talk further about ways to manage stress plus some tips on ways oils and our sense of smell can be used to reduce stress. Thank you ladies!

08.01.2022 How are you handling this ‘first week back at school’? Many of my clients were all ramping up with their preparations to head back to school. Ready to conquer those first day anxieties, already having reduced the amount of anxiety they used to feel during this time of year. Excited to show themselves and those around them that they could not only survive the first day but that they could actually have an AMAZING day! And that was just the parents.. And so with a drastic cha...Continue reading

07.01.2022 My gorgeous friend Debbie Staub-Richards from Evolving Soul Wellness has created this amazing collection of gratitude and positivity. Make yourself a cuppa and check it out shes also running Zoom meditation classes for kids and adults - lock it in the home school timetable!

06.01.2022 I have watched so many parents stressing about creating a home school program. Sharing worksheets and resources, comparing who's done what. While there are some great resources out there - its not the be all and end all. Please stop and reflect! The academic progress of your child is not the priority. Honestly its not. It's mental health (And our physical health obviously!). Your mental health and your child's. If you have a stressed child picking up on your frustration and... stress their 'learning brain' shuts down. Connect with your kids, talk to them, slow down, let them play. Look at the way you are acting out your stress - what are you modelling? All children are looking at their parents to lead. Trust me - dictating every moment of their day and replicating what you think is the school system will do damage. Stop, step back, choose calm. Please. ok, rant over See more

06.01.2022 It's a delicate balance between boundaries and loving connection with our teens. Thinking of all my teens and their parents as they navigate this tricky part of the parenting journey

01.01.2022 Is your child more anxious than normal returning to school in these coming days and weeks? Worried about the school drop off? Below is a little (off the cuff!) video about anchoring and how you can use this strategy with essential oils you might have at home.
