24.01.2022 ~ Hindu ceremony ~ Little blurb taken from @bhargavboppaphotography post. Do you know the actual auspicious time for a Hindu wedding is when the couple place a paste of cumin, jaggery and rice on each other’s heads and not when they tie the knot?... Well, these days it is just rice to ensure the paste doesn’t damage the hair for the post wedding shoot :) This paste indicates that the couple will stick together through the bitter and sweet phases of life. It is also believed that the couple interchange each other’s thoughts and destinies interlinking their lives, by applying the paste on each other’s heads. So fortunate to have witnessed Sanjana and Yuthi’s Hindu ceremony and then legally pronounce them husband and wife in their own personal ceremony which presented their own personalities. 19.01.2022 ~ Dancing ~ Georgia and Jayden planned their wedding while they were living in Darwin. They sourced local Mornington Peninsula suppliers and relied a lot on emails and phone chats. It makes life so much easier when you have suppliers that have worked together and know the area. They then were able to dance the night away with their crew without a care in the world. 18.01.2022 ~ the future ~ What does the future hold? No one has a crystal ball and no one can control what will happen in the future but one thing is certain...... A wedding is such a wonderful way to celebrate your love for one another. You get to do it your way.... whether that is with 120 of your best people, just the two of you with your witnesses or somewhere in between. 18.01.2022 ~ Connection ~ What comes to mind when you hear the word connection? ... For me connection is about a physical, emotional and spiritual feeling. It is a place where you feel safe, supported and heard. Now connection comes in many different forms depending on the relationship that has been formed, past experiences and your mind set. The current climate has enabled me to develop a deeper and stronger connection with my little tribe at home. Everyday is definitely NOT as pictured. There are many times when I hide away and hope MUM???!!! isn’t yelled and no little people come looking for me. But then there are moments when I am able to strip back layers and find out little quirks and feelings that I never knew my babies had. I probably wouldn’t have found them if I was still leading the hectic paced life I was pre-Covid, they were busy at school, multiple sporting commitments and kinder days. 16.01.2022 ~ the golden glow ~ Not sure where or who it is coming from but the sun was shining down on us as Katie and Charlie got hitched at @stonesoftheyarravalley. ... You know when you meet two people who are genuinely just so lovely, kind and funny?? Well that’s Katie and Charlie...and I miss them. I miss all my couples because all of my couples are this fantastic. Thinking of all my past, present and future couples. Everyone is going through something at the moment. No one is unaffected, no one is sailing through life not impacted. Please check on the people who usually sail through life, check on the people who are always checking on you, check on the people who you haven’t heard from for a while. Everyone is affected somehow. 13.01.2022 ~ Current situation ~ Gosh I LOVE this snap of the brilliant @katiebcelebrant and JC.... it sums them up so well!! Who’s facial expression accurately represents you at this moment in time??... I’m Katie all over... like what the hell just happened?? I had the absolute honour of marrying them a few years back at @theranchmp and honestly they are the BEST!! So full of life, funny’s and genuine love and care for their closet. Every time I look at this picture it makes me giggle, like really giggle... I keep looking at it because honestly we all need to giggle at the moment.. When I first met with them, Katie was studying to be a celebrant, I was instantly nervous thinking bloody hell I better pull this one off. Then I finished the meeting, collected their info and there was no doubt that their ceremony was going to be a cracker. How could it not with these two top people at the helm?? Fast forward a few years and Katie and I get to do this celebranting gig together. I love chatting and bouncing ideas off her. I always walk away with a huge smile on my face and feeling fresh and inspired. Katie and JC thank you for choosing me as your celebrant. 11.01.2022 ~ Why?? 5 years on...~ Yep 5 years I have been doing this thing... marrying amazing people, connecting with next level suppliers and building my little biz. There most certainly has been ups and downs but I am so fortunate to have the best people in my corner. ... From the moment I get an initial enquiry right through to submitting couples legal paperwork I am so happy that I have chosen this path. The photos show the reasons why I do this gig. The smiles, the laughter, the tears, the nervous butterflies, the quick shot to calm the nerves, the fly away veil, the fluff of a dress, the distressed calls for forgotten rings, people running late, batteries gone flat, wind swept looks, a little trip down the aisle, oh and don’t forget the buttonholes. There are countless moments throughout my 5 years as a celebrant that has reinforced my love for people. I am a people pleaser and nothing excites me more than to see two people get married and have the most amazing experience on their wedding day. 07.01.2022 ~ 6 months ~ Happy 6 months anniversary to Briley @brileybarbour and Stefan. They are now eagerly awaiting the arrival of their first little bubba and I can not wait to hear the news. This superb loved up wedding was set on a private property in Moorooduc styled and coordinated by @popupwithstyle and a top notch crew of suppliers (tap for details). ... Yep it was 6 months ago that the full brunt of the corona virus hit home. This was the last big wedding I did and I am so glad we managed to filter through the restrictions and work out a plan to get these two hitched. Because they make a bloody good husband and wife team!! 06.01.2022 ~ One step at a time ~ Slow and steady wins the race... but there is no race at the moment... so where are we rushing to?? ... One minute I am rushing to get back to weddings and life and the busy nature of life with kids and sports .... and the next minute I am kicking back enjoying the slow paced life that is ISO, baking banana bread, washing windows, cleaning out cupboards, watching movies and doing slow cooked meals. Seriously each day is so different... everyone is talking about the ronacoaster. I am sure you have heard of it. So what part of the rollercoaster are you on at the moment?? Me? 02.01.2022 ~ Adaptability ~ Let’s talk about adaptability.... We are coming out the other end of a global pandemic and everyone has been affected by it one way or another. ... What I am most grateful for are the friendships gained and moments had throughout the past 10 months. There have been some super challenging times and everyone’s experiences have been different and that’s ok. Sure, we have been through a pandemic but in the heart of it, we were all feeling a range of emotions and struggles. None right or wrong. What amazes me is the ability of people to adapt and continue to find the positives in such a crappy time. Thank you to all of my couples and friends for reaching out and checking on my family and I, thank you to my industry buddies for lending me an ear and to all those couples out there who have had to postpone for whatever reason-well done to you for holding your head high, being supportive and looking to the future. Weddings are back and life has all of a sudden got rather hectic. Continue to check on people, be open and inclusive, adapt with the changes and let’s celebrate the good times.
