24.01.2022 Recently, our community team spent some time packing backpacks full of back to school goodies for the kids from Bowen State School, Queens Beach State School, Bowen Neighbourhood Centre and Juru, to help kids start the school year off on the right foot. Volunteers from our Abbot Point Operations team helped to pull the packs together in a working bee. The teams purchased and packed more than 65 backpacks filled with exercise books, display folders, document wallets, pencils, textas, glue sticks and highlighters. Some of the packs even included calculators and USB sticks suitable for high school students. This great annual initiative is part of our Grow Local community partnership program.

08.01.2022 Lauren from our APO team had a great time visiting Bowen State High School to attend the PFI Aerospace presentation, which is proudly supported by Abbot Point Operations. The sky’s the limit kids!

05.01.2022 We are always looking for ways to improve our operations, especially when it comes to safety and efficiency! Check out this throwback image (bottom image) from 2009, taken when the terminal was in the process of expanding the stockyard by building a third in loading conveyor. As demand for coal has grown, so too has our stockyard facility.

05.01.2022 Abbot Point Operations is a proud sponsor of the Bowen Bowls Club. Some of our staff managed to make it to the annual Col Scully Memorial event over the weekend, and were 'bowled' over by the talent on display, with teams from all over Queensland in attendance. A big congratulations to all of the teams involved in this great event.
