25.01.2022 We cant appreciate the good news until we first know the bad news. "For in the gospel...the wrath of God is being revealed" Oh but how wonderful it is revealed to those who are saved in the Cross of Christ. Take time to listen in on our website.

18.01.2022 Hi to all. Abbotsford Anglican is still ministering to it's members and community. I am encouraged to hear people are keeping in contact with each other. Please continue to take the initiative to not wait to be called or texted but to do that yourselves. Remember you neighbours too. If we do we should be able to make sure we are keeping in contact with most of us. We don't won't anyone to feel they are forgotten at this time. Use the Parish Directory and contact a different p...erson each week. The second week of recorded sermons and services is now up on the website under each date. Rosemary and I enjoyed listening in with you all yesterday. If you can't access the website let Janice or me know and we will get print outs to you via your letter box or at your front door. The bell rings out still each morning and night and a few locals this week have let me know of it's comfort and call to prayer. I read Romans 15.13 in my prayer time this morning "May the God of hope fill us with all joy and peace in believing, so that by the power of the Holy Spirit we may abound in hope". God bless. 18.01.2022 Rejoice greatly, Daughter Zion! Shout, Daughter Jerusalem! See, your king comes to you, righteous and victorious, lowly and riding on a donkey,... on a colt, the foal of a donkey. Zechariah 9:9 Today's service is available again on the website http://www.abbotsfordanglican.org/sermons.html Please enjoy a cup of tea and reach out to someone different this week to say "Hello" (and remember your neighbours too)

16.01.2022 Romans 2:1-29. Bible Teaching last sunday. Total depravity. No hiding it from God. Were all the same. Without excuse and without hope but for Christ and the Cross and God's underserved mercy and grace. Unsettling when we realise we may not have been chosen to hear it and know it. Takes the self-righteous ground out from underneath you. Truly, truly grateful for God's kindness.

15.01.2022 Take yourself away from the screen for a few minutes and listen to what John's Gospel has to share about Jesus and his crucifixion with our Good Friday service. http://www.abbotsfordanglican.org/sermons.html "This happened that the scripture might be fulfilled"... Jesus said, Now is the judgement of this world, now shall the ruler of this world be cast out: and I, when I am lifted up from the earth will draw all people to myself. John 12:31

11.01.2022 "Dear friend, I pray that you enjoy good health and that all may go well with you, even as your soul is getting along well" 3 John 2 Just because we didn't meet in the same way as usual we will still do so in creative ways that will encourage each other as we see the Day approaching (Hebrews 10:25)! ... Dear Abbotsford Anglican Church members and those visiting - the Ministry team will keep in contact with you during the week as we hope you will with each other. Be assured of our prayers as we are of yours. From this week information will be posted up on the website so to keep in touch, the bulletin uploaded and the service and sermon recorded each week. For those who can't access the website the Bulletin will be dropped around on Sundays and Mondays. For those close to the church listen out for the church bell in the mornings and at the close of the day. Even if you can't hear them, with the cathedral bells ringing in the city at various times during the week, they are a call for us to pray. They will ring for a short while to remind all that God is near and desires for us in times like this to call on him in prayer (Psalm 50:15) Join me. God bless! In Christ Trevor Young Rector

11.01.2022 Or you can read what Pilate actually said (and even more importantly, what Jesus replied) in John 18:28 to John 19:30 You can also hear Stuart read this for us in today's Good Friday service. http://www.abbotsfordanglican.org/sermons.html... "... Pilate answered, You [the Jewish chief priests] take him and crucify him. As for me, I find no basis for a charge against him. The Jewish leaders insisted, We have a law, and according to that law he must die, because he claimed to be the Son of God. When Pilate heard this, he was even more afraid, and he went back inside the palace. Where do you come from? he asked Jesus, but Jesus gave him no answer. Do you refuse to speak to me? Pilate said. Don’t you realize I have power either to free you or to crucify you? Jesus answered, You would have no power over me if it were not given to you from above." John 19:6b-11a
