24.01.2022 We have been busy clearing the drying racks for an influx of water damaged rugs. Water damaged rugs can get really smelly in a short time and this indicates a high level of bacterial growth. We have the right treatments available to restore your valuable rugs and with our specialised drying facilities we can have your rugs back on your floor, looking great and smelling clean and fresh.

21.01.2022 Hi Everyone, Yep we are still here and ready to open back up to in home services as of Monday 18th May. We do have procedures in place which may help keep everyone safe and would appreciate "Self distancing" when we visit. 21.01.2022 Spilt red wine on your rug lately? Many new style rugs are made with what they call ‘Art Silk’. The ‘Art’ bit is simply short for Artificial. The fibre is either polyester or in most cases a fibre called Viscose (Rayon or similar) this is a fibre made from plant material It’s only similarity to real silk is the shiny look. Viscose reacts to soil very much like any other plant based fibre and can be very difficult to spot clean. We will be keeping our rug cleaning plant open and will still be able to pick up/del back the rugs and customers will be able to drop off / pick up. We are not sure whether we will be affected by the lockdown as our services can help keep homes cleaner and healthy and we will help our customers as long as it is deemed safe to do so. 19.01.2022 Just how far can we go? Sometimes leather lounges are beyond restoration and this one I thought was one of those. But the customer wanted it to look good because she was having an ‘open house’ in her luxury home and the old leather sofa was the only thing that brought the appearance of the house down. She didn’t want to buy a new one as she was downsizing and it wouldn’t fit. So we cleaned it, colour matched it, reapplied the colour and now it looks great and will help them sell the home. And all this for a fraction of replacement cost.

17.01.2022 If you are thinking of buying a jute rug because you think you are buying a more natural and sustainable product, then consider the amount of packaging that gets it to Australia. This packaging is from just two standard size rugs wrapped in 4 layers of plastic. While some packaging may be required to keep them in good condition on the ship from overseas, it might pay to ask your retailer about it.

15.01.2022 Dye transfer on your new leather lounge is not a good look. Be careful not to place unwashed covers or sit on it with brand new coloured clothing. The only way to fix dye transfer is to colour match and rebuild the colour pigment. This is something we can fix but if you can avoid it then all the better.

The person we are seeking must be physically fit, able to catch on quick to instructions and be of a happy nature. Current clean licence and happy to do a Police Check. 08.01.2022 This rug is quite unusual in that the sun has damaged the polypropylene pile. Polypropylene can’t be dyed after manufacture but watch as the colour magically comes back with vacuuming.

06.01.2022 Some people think that carpet causes allergies but it is often dustmite eating our own skin cells that gives us the allergies as we breath them in Regular cleaning of rugs and fabric upholstery will help reduce the airborne allergy triggers

05.01.2022 If you are wanting your rugs or lounge cleaned by us by Christmas then you are a bit late as we are fully booked. But if you have a disaster don’t panic. Here is what to do Blot up with paper towel or scoop up any spills as best you can. Most spills are water based so don’t go using bicarb soda or other chemistry as that can do more damage than the spill. Just dilute with some water and blot again with the paper towel. Then cover the area with more paper towel and leave this... on there for around 24 hours. That way residues of the spill will dry up into the paper towel that you will then throw away. If stains persist, call us when we get back to work on January 6th. It will be fine till then if you don’t go using any household chemistry like the bicarb soda. Why not bicarb soda? It is alkaline and can cause a breakdown of the proteins in wool and other natural fibres. If the spill is water based then it is already water soluble and doesn’t need any chemistry. 05.01.2022 In the specialty cleaning industry we are often asked to clean and sanitise furnishings and this is a good thing in this day and age. The WoolSafe Approved detergent we use when cleaning your lounge suite or rugs will certainly help you maintain a clean and healthy indoor environment. So we are not going to be charging extra for sanitising treatments that have always been a part of our standard upholstery and rug cleaning procedures. We do sometimes need to charge extra for ...certain things like urine, vomit and faecal contamination as these can penetrate far beyond normal soiling. We have been trying to keep up to date with the latest information to ensure we can provide you with the right services. This video is one of the best I’ve seen to help explain the situation. 03.01.2022 Today’s challenge for Ben. Stain removal can often be a challenge. Some spot cleaning products from the supermarket can compound the issue but home remedies like the old Bicarb soda can do even more damage. Luckily this customer saw our van and thought these people might be able to fix my problem. And so we did.
