25.01.2022 What do you think about air purifiers in South Australian classrooms? There are concerns for schools becoming viral hotspots once the state opens up, as many students are in proximity and not yet able to be vaccinated. Kate Cole from the Australian Institutes of Occupational Hygienists told ABC Radio Adelaide’s Ali Clarke how HEPA (High-Efficiency Particulate Air) filters can make a difference in the classroom.
24.01.2022 Have you seen these mugshots around Adelaide? Adelaide artist Peter Drew has been posting images of local criminals from the 1920s on the city's streets for ten years. He told ABC Radio Adelaide's Ali Clarke and Spence Denny, the striking black-and-white images deliver an insight into the state's darker past and how police would deal with 'undesirables'.... There are mugshots I found in the State Records, they were people who were arrested and convicted of a crime about 100 years ago in Adelaide. They are powerful images and I stick them up illegally on the street. There’s a nice cross-over there, because what I am doing is illegal and tolerated and what these people did was illegal and in some cases today we would have more sympathy for them than we did 100 years ago.

22.01.2022 South Australians, what do you think about election corflutes? The SA government has made multiple efforts to limit the number of corflutes, based on the environmental impact of the single use plastic signs. South Australian Environment Minister David Speirs told ABC’s David Bevan why he wants to see them gone.... Listen: https://ab.co/3BYdW4g I don’t think they are good from an environmental point of view; I think they are also a needless waste of plastic, visual pollution and the Government’s made two attempts to get rid of them and both have failed. So, I think we are going to be stuck with them for another election. I think we are the only state in Australia that still allows them on public infrastructure like stobie poles. Adelaide's world music festival will be celebrating its 30th birthday in March 2022 and has become the first major event in South Australia to reveal its COVID-19 vaccine policy. Festival director Ian Scobie has told ABC’s Ali Clarke, everyone who participates or attends the festival will have to be full vaccinated. ... People will be fully vaccinated to attend and participate in the event, and this includes the artists. Listen: https://ab.co/3jhMBmB We feel, firstly there’s a duty of care for the artists and the audiences for an event that’s going to have a capacity of 18,000 people in Botanic Park that we really need to ensure that everyone is vaccinated and equally with the event going on sale we didn’t think it’s fair for people to purchase tickets and later be told ‘oh by the way you need to be vaccinated’. When audiences go to buy tickets, there will be a checked box for them to confirm that they understand and agree when purchasing tickets that anyone who attends the festival 16 and over will need to be fully vaccinated and have proof of their vaccination status when they enter the event. We are in a pandemic and the pandemic will pass and for those individuals who decide not to come we understand that, but we do need to take a broader view of the entire audience and the community safety and for those that have an issue with it, they will just have to wait a year til 2023.
