22.01.2022 A cross-cultural school holiday collaboration of epic proportions, Marrkap’mi Wäa Nhulunbuy (My Sweet Home Nhulunbuy) sees some Arnhem Land’s best talent team up with the local youth to make this positive new song and film clip. The Nhulunbuy Djamarkui (Nhulunbuy Kids in the local Yolu Matha) is the artist name the group decided on, consisting of 29 Yolngu (Indigenous) and Balanda (non-Indigenous) youth of Nhulunbuy aged between 10 and 18 years of age.

14.01.2022 $185,855 in grants have been awarded to 24 community-led projects to tackle the real, and at times confronting, issues faced by young Australians living in rural, regional and remote areas of the country. Funded through the FRRR ABC Heywire Youth Innovation Grants program, these grants will support local community groups to adopt, adapt and implement one of six ideas that were developed by 37 young leaders who attended the 2020 ABC Heywire Regional Youth Summit. Well done to all of the young leaders behind these projects, and good luck to the community groups now on the journey to bring these ideas to life in their regional communities!

The school has developed a hybrid science curriculum which blends Western teaching with traditional knowledge of the local landscape and language. Bidjara and Ghungalu man Milton Lawton helps in the delivery of the curriculum both inside the classroom and on country.... "I'm just passing on my knowledge and what I can about bush tucker, our medicines, how our people lived in this environment here, how my family lived around this area here prior to Woorabinda being established," he said.
