15.01.2022 ALLEGED ARSONIST CHARGED OVER PORT MACQUARIE FIRE A 28-year-old man has been charged over an alleged arson attack at several Port Macquarie businesses. Police allege the man set fire to a building on Horton Street where two businesses were destroyed in June, 2019. ... After more than a year of investigations, officers arrested a 28-year-old man at a unit on Braemar Street, Port Macquarie last Friday. He was taken to Port Macquarie Police Station and charged with break and enter house destroy property; damage property by fire and break and enter house, steal. He was bail refused at the time of his arrest and appeared at Port Macquarie Local Court today. Investigations are continuing and further arrests are expected.

05.01.2022 P-PLATER CAUGHT SPEEDING 50KM/H OVER LIMIT Police have fined a 17-year-old p-plate driver more than $2000 for speeding along the Pacific Highway near Eungai Creek. Highway patrol officers detected the female driver travelling at 125km/h in the 100km/h zone yesterday morning.... It’s alleged police tried to stop the vehicle, but the driver accelerated reaching speeds of up to 140km/h before she stopped. The 17-year-old, who has a provisional one license with a speed limit of 90km/h, was fined $2520 and had her license suspended for six months.

03.01.2022 WOMAN DIES AFTER STRUCK BY CAMPERVAN NEAR TAREE Emergency services were called to Coopernook Forest Campground at Lansdowne Forest, about 33km north of Taree just after six on Friday night after reports a woman was seriously injured. Police have been told the 57-year-old woman was setting up her campervan when it began to roll and struck her.... She was treated by paramedics, before being taken to Port Macquarie Hospital, where she died a short time later. A report will be prepared for the information of the Coroner.
