25.01.2022 The aftermath of the floods in Townsville. ABC has been working 24/7 helping with removal of cars. And delivery of machinery, pumps & generators all over the city. Nothing is greater than seeing 1000s of Townsville locals and 100s of Townsville business work together to keep this amazing city we call home moving forward.

24.01.2022 Were loving this pink Mendi Group truck being used on the Townsville Stadium project! Mendi has painted one of their trucks pink with the message Recognising... women in construction. This campaign seeks to promote the profile of women in the industry while raising funds for the Sky Foundation who assist women and children fleeing domestic violence, and Unlock the Lachs who assist families with children who have special needs. Thank you to Tash from Mendi for the image & information! #NAWICQLD #Mendi #WomeninConstruction #Townsville

10.01.2022 Dysart man Wayne Sings 50th birthday could have been his last if wasnt for the quick actions of his brother and a friend and the skills of the emergency servi...ces team. Mr Sing was buttering bread in his kitchen on the morning of his birthday July 23 when without warning he suddenly collapsed. Five minutes earlier his wife Wynetta had wished him a happy birthday before heading off in the car to take two of their four children to a music festival. Luckily Mr Sings brother Matt and a friend Jeff Marxsen were close by and they began CPR. Within minutes the paramedics had arrived and took over the life-saving treatment. Daughter Willow rang her mother and she quickly returned home. By this stage the paramedics were ready to transport Mr Sing to Dysart Hospital. Both Queensland Ambulance Service (QAS) paramedics needed to attend to their patient so a local Queensland Fire and Emergency Services - QFES officer who was also on scene stepped up to help and drove the ambulance. From the Dysart Hospital Mr Sing was transferred to the Townsville Hospital and Health Service and then finally to the Mater Hospital where Cardiothoracic Surgeon Dr Sumit Yadav performed triple bypass surgery. Mr Sing returned to Mater Hospital last week for a post-op check-up with Dr Yadav and is pleased with his results. ``I feel like I am back to normal I feel great, he said. Mr Sing, a non-smoker with no health problems said the only warning signs he had felt was some heart burn and a bit of breathlessness at times. ``I just put to down to being unfit and didnt think too much of it, he said. Mrs Sing said they family had been blessed with a second chance and they wanted to warn people not to be complacent and get medical advice if they things dont seem quite right. ``Go see a doctor it could save your life, she said. The family wanted to extend their deepest heart-felt thanks to all of the people who helped save Mr Sings life. ``All of the hospital staff at Dysart and Townsville Hospital and the Mater, Dr Yadav and the paramedics and Matt and Jeff, Mrs Sing. ``Everyone has been so supportive of us we cant thank them enough.
