24.01.2022 Really hope you can join us with this showcase of not only Abel’s GOLD medal winning Gins but Turner Stillhouse and a brand new local tipple...all under the guidance of the spirited Curly Haslam Coates from Vintage Tasmania...at Saint John Craft Beer....and beat the Brits at their own game, Gin!

24.01.2022 Friday arvo, sun's out, gins at the ready.

23.01.2022 The lovely native Smokey Tea Tree is found throughout Tasmania. We forage ours from the East Coast on the Freycinet Peninsula between Christmas and New Year. During harvest, we pick the flowers off each branch for distilling in our Essence gin.

23.01.2022 A common ingredient in gin, Angelica root helps to build our gins flavour and creates an earthy-ness to the gin. The plant grows wild across Europe but we proudly grow ours in our own backyard :)

23.01.2022 The beautiful east coast of Tasmania. Home to Freycinet National Park, picturesque beaches and those beautiful clear blue waters. We love the east coast, not just because of its natural beauty but it is also the location for some beautiful botanicals that we forage for. One of which is the smokey tea tree blossom which features in our Essence Gin.

23.01.2022 It's a French 75 kinda night Find our version of the classic here: https://abelgin.com.au/pages/recipes

22.01.2022 Kicking off the weekend in style with a French 75. Gin and Tassie sparkling wine - what more could one want! This one is our distiller Nat’s favourite. What you’ll need:... Essence Gin Lemon Juice - fresh is best Simple syrup Sparkling wine - we go for Bellebonne Lemon zest - for garnish Combine lemon juice and sugar syrup with gin in a champagne flute and mix well. Top with sparkling wine, garnish with a strip of lemon zest and cheers to the weekend. Find the full recipe on our website.

22.01.2022 Hump day is complete, now time to settle in for the night with a Gin Daisy. This cocktail is one of our favourites and gets us in the mood for those sunny spring days. What you’ll need: Essence Gin, honey syrup, orange bitters, lemon juice, grenadine and a pretty garnish such as rose petals or dehydrated orange. Combine all your ingredients (except the garnish, of course) in a cocktail shaker full of ice. Give it a good shake, pour into a cocktail glass or in a glass with i...ce, add your garnish and cheers to overcoming that mid-week hurdle. 20.01.2022 There’s no gin without Juniper. Juniper is the predominant flavour in gin and must be in order for a liquor to classify under the gin label. It grows wild in Asia, Europe and North America and is one of the only ingredients in our gin that we do not forage for or source locally!

18.01.2022 Spotted! A bottle of Essence Gin ready for an afternoon with friends. : @holbrown

15.01.2022 Negroni, it’s one of the worlds classic cocktails and loved by many. So much so that there is a whole week dedicated to celebrating the drink. That’s right folks, this week is Negroni Week and of course, the best way to celebrate is with a glass of our favourite cocktail. So grab that Quintessence Gin, Campari and Vermouth and cheers to a novelty week we can absolutely get around.

15.01.2022 Friday is just around the corner but we can’t wait that long, 1 x quintessence coming up! (Who are we kidding, there will definitely be two)

14.01.2022 Adding a touch of glamour to our Friday night with a Quintessence Martini. Martinis are an iconic cocktail. Some like to shake, some like to stir, some like olives, others choose lemon. Everyone has a different preference on how they have their martini but one thing we can all agree on is how absolutely delicious they are. Visit our website (link below) for our take on the classic. Hint - it tastes like Tassie. ... https://abelgin.com.au/pages/recipes

14.01.2022 We love ruby grapefruit, not just for its amazing colour but for its flavour in gin. Our Essence gin has 6 citrus notes with the dominant being grapefruit. To really enhance that flavour, we recommend adding a slice of grapefruit to your Essence gin and tonic. #AbelGinCo

12.01.2022 Warm spring day - Essence Gin. You know what to do #GandT

10.01.2022 Coriander seed is a traditional ingredient in gin distilling and is the second most used after Juniper. It is also a common ingredient in our gins. We source our Coriander Seed from the fabulous locals at the Harvest Launceston community farmers market.

10.01.2022 Essence is bright and elegant. Its floral tones stem from heritage damask roses that are grown by people we know and love. Sipping this gin takes us to sunny springs days and floral garden parties.

07.01.2022 We are so excited to announce our Essence and Quintessence gin have both just won GOLD at the 2020 Australian Gin Awards! Both gins were entered in the Contemporary Gin category and, like us, the judges thought they were both golden girls. We’ll be having a little cheers to that tonight

06.01.2022 Was lovely to see the team at Tasmanian Tonic Company at Harvest Launceston yesterday! Their tonics are low in sugar and utilise Tasmanian botanicals which helps to enhance the flavour of the gin when added. The perfect tonic to our gins!

05.01.2022 It’s been a cold old week this week so we are warming up our Friday knock off’s with a Hot Mulled Gin. 90ml Quintessence Gin 400ml apple juice 100ml water... 6 cloves 3 star anise 1 cinnamon stick Sugar syrup or honey 1 orange or lemon peel, to garnish Heat all ingredients except garnish in a small saucepan over low heat until the flavours have infused. Pour into a glass. Garnish and enjoy!

04.01.2022 The stunning guest lounge at stillwaterseven! Located in a heritage 1830’s flour mill, stillwaterseven offers seven architecturally designed rooms each with their own unique character. This beautiful boutique hotel is the perfect mini-vacation. Pour yourself a little Abel Gin, sit back and relax in the gorgeous surrounds. Image: @anjieblair

03.01.2022 Quintessence; Noun: the most perfect or typical example of a quality or class. #QuintessenceGin #AbelGinTas

03.01.2022 Exploring our island home. We have seen beautiful snow falling around much of Tasmania over the last few weeks and what better way to enjoy it than a stroll through the wilderness, breathing in that fresh, crisp Tassie air.

02.01.2022 It is almost the festive season and we cannot wait for Christmas G&T’s and catch ups with loved ones. This season we will once again be attending the Narryna Christmas Spirit Market held at the beautiful Narryna Museum in Battery Point. The event brings together distillers from across the state to share the spirit of Christmas. Pop the date in the diary and come along and pick up some Abel Gins and have a chat with us! The event will be held on Saturday 12 December. ... Visit the link below for more information. https://fb.me/e/3aPMKa6Uz

02.01.2022 Welcome back Spring. We are thrilled to see you! When we created our gin we wanted two unique gins that could reflect two different moods. Quintessence is complex and brooding - it is perfect for a sophisticated martini or a negroni by the fire. Whereas Essence is light and bright - like the feeling you get on a warm sunny day in spring when the blossoms are flowering and the skies are blue.

01.01.2022 We have something a little bit special coming this festive season. Can you guess what it is? Stay tuned for details...
