23.01.2022 During December we are focusing on ispirational gardens of France. This is the first in the series Monets water garden. The water garden In 1893, ten years after his arrival at Giverny, Monet bought the piece of land neighbouring his property on the other side of the railway. It was crossed by a small brook, the Ru, which is a diversion of the Epte, a tributary of the Seine River. With the support of the prefecture, Monet had the first small pond dug ; even though his peasa...nt neighbours were opposed. They were afraid that his strange plants would poison the water. Later on the pond would be enlarged to its present day size. The water garden is full of asymmetries and curves. It is inspired by the Japanese gardens that Monet knew from the prints he collected avidly.

17.01.2022 ABELIA Gardens was in full bloom today as we took our place at the 2014 Willoughby Craft Beer Festival. Children of all ages took inspiration from a perfect spring day to paint and plant their very own pots with seasonal favourites including Pansies and Petunias. Spring is a big planting month in Sydney - so there is no reason not to jump into the garden and get growing! For a colour explosion try Sunflowers, Zinnias, Nasturtiums, Everlasting Daisies or Celosias - and for the table why not try some zucchini, spring onions, mint, radish, fennel, endive, cucumber, daikon or celery. GET PLANTING!

12.01.2022 We couldnt let the Christmas season slip by with out featuring one of our favourite garden elements lights! We wanted to share some of the wonderful designer solar and LED trends which have inspired us here at the Abelia office. Amidst a huge array on the market, we loved the beautiful solar powered blossoming lights with their petite solar stem panels and the ICFF award winning Corona Solar Light - an outdoor lighting solution combining a photovoltaic cell, LEDs, and su...nflower-esque form to bring a lovely solar-powered glow to all outdoor and indoor spaces. The kooky Ripe Radish was another favourite - this quirky solar lawn lamp glows red at night and it is also a planter so your radish can have a real leafy top! The beautiful Mia Serrate lights by Quebec based Twist Production Inc. glow in the dark like a magical pine tree forest. The solar fibre-optic Butterfly string lights are a must for any occasion and our last pick - Luzinterrutus Packaged Vertical Garden takes 110 transparent food containers, and packs them with leaves, branches and a lighting source. The containers can then be easily transported and installed on any wall in the form a fashionable new vertical garden. Garden lighting can be designed and installed all year round. We would love to help you make your illuminated garden wishes a reality if not for this Christmas - maybe for next year! We would like to take this opportunity to wish all our clients, family, friends and those we are yet to meet a wonderful and safe Christmas and New Year. We will be back in 2015 to help you dream, create and build your perfect outdoor space!
