22.01.2022 An environment for children should be adaptable. It should be challenging. Providing scaled moments that allow children to assess risk, predict outcomes and confidently embark on a new action or skill. I’m so high everybody!

20.01.2022 When we apply sunscreen, we talk about the importance of WHY. When we understand the importance or the reasoning behind a practice we see the value in it. 18.01.2022 This year, we are celebrating NAIDOC Week from the 8th - 15th of November. The theme this year is 'Always Was, Always Will Be'. At Aberdene, it is especially important to us that not only through times of celebration, that First Nations People are represented, valued, respected, and have strong voices within our service. By taking this approach, we steer away from tokenistic experiences and unauthentic connections. We do have some exciting opportunities, and extensions from ...past experiences planned for the children and our community this week. 18.01.2022 Today we’re practicing so we can run away and join the circus! This was inspired by one of the children who is constantly practicing her juggling skills. Hand and eye coordination, although it takes practice, is such a transferable skill.

15.01.2022 Luckiness is context that’s a bit tricky to explain. To break it down and talk about how some people are lucky, and others are not. Through no fault of their own, or through a series of circumstances. Demonstrating kindness and compassion however, is something the children of Aberdene do very well! Someone in our community has recently started collecting donations for Share the Dignity. A charity set up to support women and children to provide essentials. - Not luxuries. Ess...ential self-care items. We know we are lucky and have never gone without or have had to choose between 2 essential items when doing a grocery shop. The spirit of Christmas is kindness and giving. How are you spreading kindness this year?

14.01.2022 When children engage with and live alongside other people, animals and pets, they are able to determine how to be. To respects space, to read cues and recognise needs. This photo is a common occurrence. Saphie, in a deep and content slumber in the midst of movement and sound!
