22.01.2022 PONG-A-THON 2021 It's back. bigger than ever and you are invited to join us. This year we are taking our Abermain Mission Hall Pong-a-Thon to the next level by hosting it as a joint venture with Targeted Fitness at Thornton. Over the coming weeks, we will be giving you more details of how to get involved but for now, please mark this date and time in your diary and read Why We Pong!... Event: Targeted Fitness - Abermain Mission Hall Pong-a-Thon Date: Saturday 23rd October 2021 Time: 11.00am to 5.00pm Venue: Targeted Fitness at Thornton WHY WE PONG? There are 40.3 million men, women, teens and children in the world today who are SLAVES. 40.3 million people with hopes and dreams, who want their lives to matter, to mean something MORE - just like you and me! Poverty and harsh circumstances have made them vulnerable to the greed of others to be bought and sold like products off a supermarket shelf. They show courage beyond understanding just to survive another day. They courageously WAIT. For RESCUE. For HOPE. For JUSTICE. For FREEDOM. We Pong because EVERY person matters. We Pong because every person deserves the chance to live a life that is FREE. What if the person you love most in the world was one of these 40.3 million? How far would you go, how hard would you fight for their freedom? Today, YOU have the chance to radically alter the course of a person's life FOREVER! For more info please ring Brian on 0414989797

19.01.2022 23 WAYS TO LOVE PEOPLE BETTER During the Covid pandemic, we have been looking at practical ways in which we can truly love one another as Christ has loved us. To do that we have been looking at a challenging definition of Christian love by the Author Paul Tripp. Paul defines genuine, other-focused, Christ-centered love as: Willing self-sacrifice for the good of another that does not require reciprocation or that the person being loved is deserving....Continue reading

19.01.2022 Dear Friends, we are all horrified by what is happening in Afghanistan and what will happen there under Taliban rule. It is easy to throw up our hands in dismay and think that there is nothing that we can do, but here is a constructive and compassionate way that we all can get involved. It will only take less than one minute to do, but I urge you to join the call for Australia to take action to increase its refugee intake from Afghanistan NOW. Before it is to late.

12.01.2022 PLEASE READ NOW! Hi Everyone, what you are about to read is a criticism of our Federal Government. I am not playing politics with this post and I would be posting it if our those responsible for this terrible injustice was Liberal, Labor, Green or National. As Christians of whatever political persuasion you are, please honestly ask yourself, what would Christ's response be to this injustice? Where is the compassion? Where is the morale responsibility that we have? Our Fe...Continue reading

12.01.2022 WE’VE ALL BEEN EXPOSED a poem by Sarah Bourne We’ve all been exposed. Not necessarily to the virus... (maybewho even knows ). We’ve all been exposed BY the virus. Corona is exposing us. Exposing our weak sides. Exposing our dark sides. Exposing what normally lays far beneath the surface of our souls, hidden by the invisible masks we wear. Now exposed by the paper masks we can’t hide far enough behind. Corona is exposing our addiction to comfort. Our obsession with control. Our compulsion to hoard. Our protection of self. Corona is peeling back our layers. Tearing down our walls. Revealing our illusions. Leveling our best-laid plans. Corona is exposing the gods we worship: Our health Our hurry Our sense of security. Our favorite lies Our secret lusts Our misplaced trust. Corona is calling everything into question: What is the church without a building? What is my worth without an income? How do we plan without certainty? How do we love despite risk? Corona is exposing me. My mindless numbing My endless scrolling My careless words My fragile nerves. We’ve all been exposed. Our junk laid bare. Our fears made known. The band-aid torn. The masquerade done. So what now? What’s left? Clean hands Clear eyes Tender hearts. What Corona reveals, God can heal. Come Lord Jesus. Have mercy on us.

11.01.2022 PLEASE READ: The dangers facing Afghan Christians inside their country and escaping from it The situation for Christians in Afghanistan is horrendous. They need our support and prayers NOW! The following information is from the Barnabas Fund who seeks to support Christians around the world who are being persecuted....Continue reading

11.01.2022 THE TRAGEDY UNFOLDING BEFORE OUR VERY EYES! Please don't turn your eyes away. The Afghan people have been so terribly let down by the US and OUR Federal Govern...ment, and many other Western governments. They all knew that this horrific humanitarian crisis would happen and yet our politicians sat on their hands and showed indifference or at best a token response. The Morrison government MUST increase its refugee intake from Afghanistan right now. No more excuses! Sadly, it may be already too late, as thousands of innocent people, especially women and children, will become victims at the hands of the barbaric Taliban. Our Prime Minister and the US President need to stop playing politics right now and show real compassion and leadership. Please pray for the people of Afghanistan, that they will be protected and saved. Anything less than that is a blood stain on our political leaders and our country's history. Please also give to organisations like CARE Australia who are at the forefront of providing aid to the Afghan people. Yes, we are all frustrated by being in Covid lockdown, but think about what we have in comparison to the Afghan people. We do have freedom and hope, but at this very moment they have only fear, hopelessness and a future marked by evil injustice, oppression and even death. https://www.care.org.au

04.01.2022 PLEASE PRAY FOR AJ! Police continue to search for a three-year-old boy who has been missing for more than two days in the NSW Hunter region. More than 130 people on Sunday continued to look for Anthony AJ Elfalak, who is autistic and is non-verbal.... He went missing about 11.45am on Friday from his family’s 260-hectare farm at Putty, near Singleton, and search efforts have continued since. Please pray for little AJ, that he will be reunited with his family safe and well. Please also pray for his family. This is a parents worst nightmare. Please pray also for everyone who is looking for him. That they will also be safe and have wisdom in their searching for AJ.

02.01.2022 ARE YOU TREMBLING WITH FEAR TODAY? Then here is a quote to both challenge and encourage you in this season of Covid-19. If we were to understand how dear we are to God, our relation to Him, our value in His eyes, and how He protects us by His faithful promises and gracious presence, we would not tremble at every appearance of danger.... John Flavel (1662) I wonder if Mr Flavel had Psalm 46:1 to 3 in mind when he penned those words: God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear, though the earth give way and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea, though its waters roar and foam and the mountains quake with their surging. Friends, lean into the arms of our awesome God, He loves you more than you can ever imagine!!!
