01.01.2022 The next CollectivArtist Id like to introduce you to is Lorraine Bennell Abernethy: Lorraine is an artist and educator who is located on the Gold Coast and Twe...ed Shire border. She lives and works from her home/studio which she shares with her partner and fellow artist Ian Tremewen. She is an award winning contemporary Australian and international artist, including portrait artist who is a highly respected teacher/educator of art, and a facilitator of Transpersonal Art Therapy workshops (Art as Healing. ABERNETHY ART SERVICES Gold Coast Art Classes /Workshops Northern NSW). Lorraine grew up in the Tweed district and as a child she was always encouraged by her Artist Mother June Bennell. She studied Art in Sydney and then did further studies in Townsville Nth Queensland, on completion she had her first Solo Exhibition in Cairns and has continued to exhibit all over Australia and Internationally. Having lived and travelled to many locations, Lorraines artwork depicts both the domestic and the vastness of her environment. Colour and light features strongly in her paintings, and she has been a professional artist for over 35 years. Lorraine is a current finalist in the prestigious 2018 Art Lovers Australia Art Prize (show currently on at Left Bank Gallery, Southport)...well done Lorraine!!! Come along on Friday 20th April from 6.30pm and meet Lorraine as well as our other CollectivArtists @ One Arts Gallery, Isle of Capri.
