19.01.2022 The Four Yugas Each yuga is an age with specific characteristics in which incarnations of Krsna appear. The four yugas make up a cycle called divya-yuga, which lasts 4,320,000 years. One thousand of these yugas equal one day of Brahma, which is called a kalpa. Brahma's lifespan is 100 years of his time. In each yuga there is a specific process of self-realization (yuga dharma). SATYA YUGA - (sometimes also called krta-yuga): the golden age lasts 1,728,000 years. The process o...f self-realization in this yuga is meditation on Visnu. During this yuga the majority of the population is situated in the mode of goodness and the average life span at the beginning of the yuga is 100,000 years. TRETA YUGA - also called the silver age, lasts 1,296,000 years and the process of self realization is the performance of opulent yajnas(sacrifices). The average life span is 10,000 years and the godly qualities decrease one fourth compared to the Satya yuga. It is during this age that Varna-asrama-dharma is introduced. DVAPARA YUGA - or the bronze age, lasts 864,000 years and the process of self realization is the worship of the deities within temples. Godly qualities are reduced to 50% by now and the average life expectancy is only 1000 years. KALI YUGA - the iron age of hypocrisy and quarrel lasts 432,000 years. Lord Krsna appeared in His original, trancendental form right before the beginning of Kali Yuga. The process of self realization is sankirtana, the chanting of the Holy Names of the Lord. God consciousness is reduced to 25% of the population and life expectancy is only 100 years. By now already 5000 years of Kali yuga have passed and it is predicted that by the end of the yuga people will hardly be older than 20 years and their only food will be meat. Hare Krishna

14.01.2022 All glories to the Krishna paksha Ekadashi Tithi in the month of Margashirsha, for it is the holy disappearance day of two great personalities and dear associat...es of Sri Sachinandan Gaurahari, namely, Sri Narahari Sarkar Thakur and Sri Kaliya Krishna Das. The dear gopi friend of Srimati Radhika named Madhumati, whose service is to supply delicious nectarian honey for the pleasure of the divine couple Radha Shyamsundar and their associates, appeared in Gaura-lila as Sri Narahari Sarkar thakur, who was endowed with splendid qualities and was a wonderful singer and poet. Appearing in Srikhanda, he was the 40th branch of the desire tree of pure love of Godhead, as stated in the Sri Chaitanya Charitamrita. Knowing him to be a very dear associate of Garuahari, Srila Bhaktivinod Thakur mentions his name in the Gaura Arati 'kiba narahari adikari chamara dhulaya' "Narahari is fanning Gaurasundara with a yak-tail (chaumara) fan." Indeed he was blessed by Mahaprabhu in a very special manner, such that, although no other devotee was allowed to glorify Gauranga in front of Gauranga himself, for he would close his ears and get upset, Narahari Thakur was the only one who could glorify him and Mahaprabhu would not object. Once, when Sri Nityananda Prabhu visited Srikhanda, he jokingly said to Narahari that he knew well his true identity and therefore he should offer them honey, hearing which, overjoyed at heart, Narahari Sarkar went to a near by pond, filled up a pot with water and when he brought it in the service of Nityananda Prabhu, it was filled with the most delicious and sweet honey, which the Lord enjoyed with his devotees. The famous author of Sri Chaitanya Mangal, Sri Lochan das Thakur was the foremost disciple of Srila Narahari Sarkar Thakur and has glorified him in his book as well. On his auspicious disappearance day, we also offer our humble obeisances to this great personality and beg him to grant us unflinching devotion to the lotus feet of Sri Gaurasundar. This day also marks the disappearance of Sri Kaliya Krishna prabhu, an associate of Gauranga who is Lavanga Sakha in Krishna's pastimes in Golok Vrindavan. Coming from Akai Hata, he was a dear associate of Nityananda Prabhu and can easily grant love for Gaurachandra to one who takes shelter of his lotus feet. After the disappearance of Nityananda Prabhu, He was travelling with Jahnava Ma and was with her when she went to Katwa. His worshipable Lord is Sri Kala Chandji, who is still being worshiped in his village. All glories to Sri Kaliya Krishna Prabhu, may he bestow his causeless mercy upon us all.
