25.01.2022 Intimacy opens windows when doors are closed. After spending time with God this morning, I went back to my room to retrieve something only to find the door had locked. I could not get in! While I stood there trying to force the lock open, my son said don’t worry I will go in through the window and before I knew it he had climbed out of his bedroom window and found an open window in my room. In an instant he was opening the door from the inside. ... Intimacy with God does like wise. Where doors sometimes get shut, either accidentally or intentionally, if we trust in our relationship with Him, He will grant us access to the places we need opened - even if it means going through a window! Today God is granting access to places that have been shut. Trust in His love for you and that His plans for you will make a way. Praise God! I will go before you and make the rough places smooth; I will shatter the doors of bronze and cut through their iron bars. 18.01.2022 Throughout scripture there is an invitation to intimacy with God. The Garden of Eden was flowing with intimacy. God personally formed and created man and woman, He placed them there. He came and walked with them. Sharing His heart for this world. Genesis 2 (NIV). As Jesus broke the bread and poured out the wine. He beckoned the disciples to partake of Him. A symbolic act of intimacy. His body and His blood for theirs. No greater love every existed. Luke 22:19 (NIV). ... And now The Holy Spirit lives within every believer. He is our gift. He never leaves us. He leads us. He teaches us. He comforts us. What could be more intimate? John 14 (NIV). Start 2021 from a place of intimacy. 15.01.2022 Intimacy with God allows us to reflect God better. The more time we spend with anyone, the more we become like them. It is the same with God. If we want to become more like God - more loving, kind, patient, joyful... you get the idea, then we need to become better acquainted with Him. ... Intimacy with God will bring out the best and the most beautiful you that you can ever be. 2 Corinthians 3:18 So all of us who have had that veil removed can see and reflect the glory of the Lord. And the Lordwho is the Spiritmakes us more and more like him as we are changed into his glorious image. #abidingmatters #intimacy #God #reflect #Christian
11.01.2022 There were many days last year that felt peaceless. Turmoil and uncertainty surrounded all of us. The only certainty we really had was God. Always our anchor of peace in the storm and all we had to do was draw near to Him. It is the Holy Spirit dwelling within every believer that reminds us to do this. He is our gift.... He never leaves us. He leads us. He teaches us to pray. He comforts us. He is our peace. A peace that surpasses all circumstance, all understanding, because He is God and He is all knowing. The indwelling of the Holy Spirit brings us into intimacy with the God of heaven as His heart now rests in ours. As we draw near to God, He fills us with His everlasting peace. And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another advocate to help you and be with you forever 17 the Spirit of truth. The world cannot accept him, because it neither sees him nor knows him. But you know him, for he lives with you and will be[c] in you. John 14:16-17 (NIV) www.abidingmatters.com.au #abidngmatters #peace #holyspirit #God #Christian #intimacy

02.01.2022 WOW... what a year 2020 was. There was so much to fear and yet love arose in new and splendid ways. There was so much to doubt and yet faith shone bright. There was so much to loose and yet we gained the most important things of all. No matter what 2021 holds we can be sure that Jesus holds us through it all. HAPPY NEW YEAR - because with Jesus it always can be. Romans 8:28. #newyear
