25.01.2022 Watch this space! AbilityMade has been nominated for a Good Design Australia award. The announcement will be made next week. Wish us luck =)

25.01.2022 Train your eyes on this little paediatric afo... (hehe, get it?) Heres a peak behind the scenes of what our afos look like fresh back from the industrial 3D printer to when we send them out to our partner orthotist for fitting. You can choose what illustration, colour and name you want etched into them (because AbilityMade kids are the most stylish on the playground!) This articulated afo has integrated Tamarak joints, an intrinsic heel stabiliser, and a very thin 1.5mm foot...plate to allow for greater flexibility and movement. Designed for the patients specific needs, those eagle-eyed orthotists out there may notice this afo includes a cuboid notch, calcaneal control, nuvicular relief, an increased medial longitudinal arch, an increased transverse arch, and loading on the lateral calf. This afo was made for the wonderful Newcastle based Orthotist, Jessie McGrath, from Nova Orthotics. #3dprinting #afo #orthoses #3dprintedafo #paediatricafo #oandp #oandplife #abilitymade #abilitymadeforyou

23.01.2022 This sample AFO (50% scale) is a perfect example of what #3DPrinting makes possible: 1. customisable flexibility (e.g. the foot wrap) 2. integrated heel wedges (customisable to the shoe) 3. clean digital curves ... 4. high-res text & graphics This device was printed at Footwork Podiatric Laboratory on their advanced 3D by HP Multi-Jet Fusion printers.

22.01.2022 Our friends at Social Impact Hub made this little video about us. It is very heart-warming to look back over the past two years Their work was invaluable to us, helping us to define our impact, create an impact model and a measurement framework. With their support we were able to secure impact investment to continue providing people with advanced, custom-made AFOs.

She has shared her plans to prepare and minimise risk in the hope that it helps others and the community develop a healthy plan together. :) There are some great links to health resources you can share with your community.

07.01.2022 Results from our mechanical testing have just been published in Australian Orthotic Prosthetic Associations "Future is Now" edition of the AOPA Review! Our Lead Engineer (Koray Kilic) developed a novel AFO test rig to measure the impact of environmental factors on our 3D printed AFOs. He found that they were just as robust as traditional devices - which was key to getting them certified as approved medical devices in Australia! The article is attached as images if youd like to read more.

07.01.2022 We love this new global campaign calling on business leadership to put disability inclusion on the agenda! When businesses claim diversity, too often disability is left out of the discussion. There is no diversity without disability. This campaign is putting disability representation at the centre of business- "because the potential of 1.3 billion people should not be ignored.

03.01.2022 A test batch of new patterns has just arrived! The metallic colour (technically "colour shift") was inspired by the fancy cars that change colour depending on the angle. It looks even cooler on an AFO!

02.01.2022 We are so overjoyed at seeing Emily wearing her new AFOs! Our Partner Orthotist Tamra Enbom at Access Orthotics prescribed these amazing AFOs for Emily. It was a pleasure modelling them and working closely with Tamra to get the unique details just right! "Today we picked up Emilys new afos & so far they are brilliant! Her stride & foot placement were much more consistent, when turning her feet were better positioned & she did the best running weve ever seen. Also they look fabulous! Cant wait to see how she goes in her racerunner."
