18.01.2022 In late June, the Summer Foundations Tenancy Matching Service is holding free online workshops for people with disability and their families, who are based in ...Tasmania, to talk about housing options. People with disability will run the workshops. They will provide information about housing options for people with disability and share stories about how they found the right home for them. Pre-registration sessions will be held in early June to work out which workshop would suit you best. One of our wonderful storytellers Shanais made the move into her own apartment last year and has shared her experience here. For more information about our Housing Options workshops for people with disability and their families in Tasmania, please go to: https://bit.ly/2TGGLhL

08.01.2022 Ability Physio NW - Response to COVID-19 As you are no doubt aware, there are concerns regarding the spread of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) and recommendations to limit social interaction. At this stage the risk of contracting the virus in normal day to day activities remains low, but this situation is changing quickly. We will be closely monitoring Department of Health statements and advice. Ability Physio NW currently aim to continue to provide a home visit service. We ...will remain diligent with our infection control processes, including using recommended had washing methods. Currently people most at risk of contracting the virus are those who have recently returned from travelling overseas or had contact with people who have. There is a Government directive as of 15th march, that if you have returned from overseas, you must self-isolate and monitor your health for 14 days following your return. If you develop a fever, sore throat or cold during that time, you should seek medical attention. As a number of our clients are in the high-risk group should they contract COVID-19, we request that you inform us if you are in one of the high-risk groups outlined above. There is a risk that the virus may start to be transmitted within the community and then cases may rapidly increase Advice to help prevent the spread of the virus include: Regular hand washing Cover your nose and mouth with a tissue or use your elbow when coughing or sneezing Avoid touching your face Avoid shaking hands Stay home if you are unwell Try to stay 1.5m from anyone who is coughing or sneezing. As Physiotherapists we are often required to physically touch clients as part of the assessment and therapy interventions. We at Ability Physio NW understand if you would prefer to limit your contact with others. Please let us know if you would prefer that we do not visit during this time. We are able to offer phone or video consultations as an alternative. Please feel free to call me if you have any questions regarding this process. Regards Angie Diffley: Ph. 0447 647 838
