24.01.2022 I think we all know we shouldn't be trying to lighten our own regrowth at home. It does often end in tears unfortunately. Bright orange hair is not anyone's most flattering shade and it's good to remember that whilst you can purchase hair colour across the counter, the formulations are just 1/3 of the strength of what's available to a certified professional. Hence the orange instead of blonde.... BUT also, those across the counter formulations still have the ability to ...over process and cause irreparable damage. Breakage is a real problem with home colouring. A temporary quick fix is to give your regrowth the "appearance" of lightening out and you can easily do this by sprinkling some cornstarch or even talcum powder into the root area and rub in. It won't of course completely lighten your hair but it will reduce the definite contrast - plus try combining this tip with the zig zag parting tip from a couple of days ago. Of course there are some aresol dry shampoos on the market too, but be super careful with these as they can really dry your hair out and cause irritated scalps if overused. So great for a very occasional quick fix but definitely not recommended for regular use!! Stay tuned for more tips tomorrow! In the meantime, take care xx ~ Liz ~

22.01.2022 Its really important to check out skin tones - by simply adding a warm blonde along with a darker shadow foil we've achieved exactly what Michelle had in her minds eye, along with a lovely glow for her skin! 07.01.2022 It's easy to think of saving costs on your shampoo and conditioner by purchasing at the supermarket or chemist. But is it really worth trying to save a few cents per shampoo? It can strip your gorgeous new colour, leaving it dull, lifeless or even brassy, and that's not the worst of it! Most of these detergent filled products unfortunately also have fillers, silicone and smoothing waxes designed to give you the "impression" of healthy hair. Sadly though it's far from the re...al story. As you can see from this section of hair under the microscope, there can be many layers of product build up, often causing irreversible damage to the hairshaft and requiring to be cut out. Colouring over silicone and smoothing waxes can also cause chemical reactions and adverse colour results. Commonly a colour will take on a pink/purple/greenish cast which unfortunately is almost impossible to remove after. Make sure to let me know if you've changed your home haircare.
