18.01.2022 To all my brothers and sisters marching today you have my full respect. To all the Indigenous people that have been murdered in police custody here and the rest... of the world, it's their day to be heard, stand proud, be strong, be safe and have your say on the world stage! Black lives matter, if all lives mattered we wouldn't need a black lives matter movement. We must clean our own yard before we start on the streets.

17.01.2022 I CAN'T BREATHE - DEATH IN CUSTODY - ... police dug their knees into him and pinned him to the ground two were on his neck, two at the back, and one in the... middle, says the deceased man's niece, I was telling them to get off him because he couldn't breathe. As far as I know, this wasn't even registered as a death in custody. As the Assistant Commissioner says, "We have no reason to believe that our members did anything except behave in the most professional and appropriate manner ..." No protests, no "Black Lives matter" back then... 'Excessive force used' (Northern Territory News, 3 January 2008). The family of a man who died in police custody has slammed the way police restrained him, saying the officers used too much force. The 52-year-old man died on Tuesday afternoon after police tried to restrain him in response to reports he was causing a disturbance at a Palmerston home. The deceased man's family said five police officers including one female - dug their knees into him and pinned him to the ground outside their home. The man's niece wiped away tears as she told the Northern Territory News how she screamed for the officers to get off him. They were too rough and we all think they have done the wrong thing, she said. They used too much force on my uncle. I was telling them to get off him because he couldn't breathe. There were five cops holding him down two were on his neck, two at the back, and one female cop in the middle. He was an asthmatic and they were putting his face down into the dirt on the floor.
