25.01.2022 Wonderful new coin, produced by the Royal Australian Mint.
24.01.2022 It's #NAIDOCWeek, a time to celebrate Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander culture. One way to do this is to learn some words in language. Here are some Wiradjuri words for counting - 1 is ngumbaay, 2 is bula, 3 is bula ngumbaay (2+1), 4 is bula bula (2+2) and 5 is marra (this is also the word we use for hand, because we have 5 fingers). Thanks to my wonderful neices, nephews and friends for agreeing to be in the photos, Otis Williams Deadly Photography and the wonderful Wiradjuri Dictionary.
23.01.2022 It's national tree day - a time to remember how wonderful trees are. A Wiradjuri word for tree is madhan. We use them to make canoes, coolamons, tools and weapons. Also for food and medicine. We also carved them. They are important habitats for the many animals that depend on them. #NationalTreeDay Eucalypt Australia #Wiradjuri
23.01.2022 Brindabella Print did a great job on my new count to 10 book. #Wiradjuri
22.01.2022 Some great resources. #Wiradjuri
21.01.2022 Our children are the Elders of tomorrow. Celebrate Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Children's Day by watching Tiddalik the Frog. SNAICC-National Voice for our Children #NATSIChildrensDay2020 #ChildrensDay2020 #EldersOfTomorrow #StrongInCulture
20.01.2022 A good place to visit when in Canberra.
18.01.2022 Today is #indigenousliteracy Day. I think it is great that young ones are learning their language and reading books. There are some wonderful books around, written by Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander authors, which are inspiring young ones about their culture and language. Libraries, bookshops and other organisations are also doing great work. #readingopensdoors The Indigenous-Literacy Foundation Children's Book Council of Australia; Libraries ACT; Paperchain Bookstore; BOOK FACE Gungahlin; The Markets Wanniassa; Riley Callie Resources; Yarn Strong Sista; Magabala
18.01.2022 August is #platypus month. We saw this one at Eungella National Park Queensland National Parks. Wiradjuri people call the platypus biladurang and they are in our stories. They are an important animal as there are only two mammals in Australia that lay eggs! Do you know who the other one is? #Wiradjuri #aboriginallanguages
17.01.2022 Hello everyone, just sharing this as it was my first storytelling since COVID. It's great to be back telling stories to the little ones.
15.01.2022 It's #NationalWattleDay in #BIodiversityMonth. There are many words for wattles in Wiradjuri because there are so many different types of wattle in Wiradjuri Country. Garal is Wiradjuri for wattle tree. Wattle Day Association Inc. LachLandcare
14.01.2022 Now that it is yiraga (spring) it is a good time to keep an eye out for murnang (yam daisies), ngawang (false sarsparillla) and indigophera. Be careful with the two purple flowering plants, one (ngawang) is good to make tea with, the other (indigophera) is used to stun fish! #wiradjuri #season
14.01.2022 Keep an eye out for some wonderful artwork in Canberra (Ngunnawal Country) during #NAIDOCWeek.
14.01.2022 Very interesting.
13.01.2022 In winter (babang) - the sound of the bush after rain. #Wiradjuri #winter #WinterSolstice
11.01.2022 Next time you are in Canowindra pop in and say hello at the Canowindra Creative Centre in Gaskill Street. They are selling some of my products. They are not for profit and the money goes towards promoting the creative work by the community. They do a great job. #Wiradjuri #BuyFromtheBush
11.01.2022 Have a listen to this amazing bird. We call them burral-gang.
11.01.2022 It's BirdLife Australia's national bird week. Some bird names such as kookaburra are based on Wiradjuri words (gugubarra). Other Wiradjuri words for birds, such as bulanbulan (crimson rosella) and ngugug (boobook owl) sound a bit like the call the bird makes. #wiradjuri #Backyardbirdcount #aboriginal #birds
09.01.2022 Happy father's day to all the dad's out there. Did you know that it is the male dinawan (emu) who sits on the eggs and then looks after the babies? BirdLife Australia #fathersday #wiradjuri
08.01.2022 This site has some great resources.
06.01.2022 Good to see these signs in Wiradjuri Country.

04.01.2022 Billabongs are starting to get noisey. #wiradjuri #frogs #winter
