22.01.2022 Taree SES needed volunteers to assist with prepping for floods, which means filling up gravel and sandbags. John and Isaac were eager to assist our local Unit. They managed to fill 951 bags with other volunteers, which will be distributed to the community when needed. John and Isaac had a wonderful time worked hard met some wonderful people. John is also keen to sign up and be part of the SES in the future. They are very proud to be able to be part of our wonderful community and to assist those who are in need.

18.01.2022 The United Nations declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples (UNDRIP) was adopted by the General Assembly on this day in September 2007. Today the declaration is the most comprehensive international instrument on the rights of Indigenous Peoples. It establishes a universal framework of minimum standards for the survival, dignity, and well-being of the Indigenous peoples of the world and it elaborates on existing human rights standards and fundamental freedoms as they apply to the specific situation of Indigenous peoples. The event is aimed at assisting university students who have a disability with finding employment once they have finished their studies. The event provides students with information, knowledge and career development strategies to undertake successful transitions from university to appropriate and meaningful employment. 13.01.2022 Just in-time for Christmas, Kmart has brought-out a new doll with Down syndrome. The Baby Charlie dolls are in the inclusivity range of products, alongside a doll who uses a wheelchair, a visually impaired doll and one that is hearing impaired. This release fosters inclusivity, well-rounded representation of people and explores diversity. A customer whose five-year-old son has Down Syndrome said she was excited about the release.
