25.01.2022 Grid connected solar systems with battery storage. There are a few reasons that you may want battery storage connected to your solar system. There are also many factors to consider when designing a system. Some of these factors may include -cost of system -energy usage -feed in tariffs... -existing solar systems -expected life of system -replacement costs -require continuity of supply in power outages -the energy the batteries can deliver There is a lot to take into account when designing a system and these factors need to be considered. Ensure you do your research and it is clear what your system will provide for you. We can design and install new grid connected solar systems. These can have provisions for battery storage at a later date or we can retrofit your existing systems with battery storage. Give us a call and speak to somebody with some experience and training in the systems.

25.01.2022 I'm about to trial some power consumption monitoring. I will be able to monitor incoming mains power and the incoming solar. The idea will be able to build a load profile to size solar and/or batteries to suit your needs. These can be installed permanently which would allow you to monitor your usage or detect problems with your system. I intend on setting one up that I can move around to different properties so that a load profile can be built. This will aid in sizing the right system and to ensure the system will work for you.

24.01.2022 A good quality system we finished installing on Saturday. 28 x 315W LG Neon panels and a Fronius Symo 10kW inverter.

24.01.2022 This is dc isolator from a solar system. The customer reported it to be tripping about once a week. I tested the system for faults and was unable to find anything wrong with it and then happened to see this at the bottom of the circuit breaker. Still not sure what had caused it as all connections were tight but this is one of the reasons its a good idea to have your system checked over by an accredited solar installer.

24.01.2022 At TAFE this week to get my endorsement for battery storage with grid connected solar. Contact me if you have any questions regarding solar.

23.01.2022 Ensure you check your light switches are turned on before contacting an electrician to come and investigate why some of your lights are not working.

21.01.2022 Its coming. This will be something to look at for people who are on the 16cent feed in tariff which is to finish September 2016.

20.01.2022 Back at Tafe this week to finish my solar with battery storage training.

20.01.2022 Anybody considering installing a solar pv system you will need to be approved by sept 30 of 2013 to be eligible for the 16 cent feed in tariff which is until sept 30 2016. On top of the 16 cents, you will receive a minimum retailer payment which is currently at 9.8 cents. If you have any questions, feel free to give us a call. We can also look at options for small and business as well as energy efficient lighting solutions to help with rising electricity costs.

19.01.2022 Light tower we installed on diesel tank at a transport yard. 3 LED flood lights switched by a PE cell to aid truck drivers in refueling at night.

17.01.2022 A new Australian standard has been introduced which will affect the installation of Solar systems. These changes will add to the cost of the system. If you or anybody else you know have considered having solar installed, get in quick before these new standards are enforced.

17.01.2022 New cummins genset powering the cool room until the power is upgraded from SA Power. Then another cool room will be built and setup as a freezer with the genset being configured as a backup.

16.01.2022 A quality solar install that I am fixing. I don't really know how these people can still be electricians. Not one bit of conduit was glued. Most of the time, cheapest option isn't the best option. Mind the blokes language behind me at the end.

15.01.2022 There is currently a lot of hype around battery storage and having uninterrupted power. However there is a lot of things that still need to be considered and in my opinion its not quite there yet. Some things that you need to consider when looking into battery storage - How long will the batteries last before needing replacement - Will the location where the batteries are installed affect their lifespan - If I am to have an uninterrupted power supply, what extra requirements... do I need to do to my existing electrical installation and what will it cost - What are the warranties on all components - What is the payback time Dont get me wrong, I think there is some exciting times to come but dont think value for money is quite there yet. Happy to answer any questions you may have about this subject.

15.01.2022 With only 5 weeks to go until xmas, dont go leaving those electrical jobs you want done for the big day til the last week. Get in now to ensure they get done.

13.01.2022 3 of these sunteams inverters are heading off to the e-waste depot for correct disposal. Company is not honoring warranty so they were replaced with a much better SMA inverter.

13.01.2022 Does your business have excessive power bills. Im currently looking into some options where businesses can get solar on their roof with a lease plan. It will be a lease with a residual payment at the end. You will be able to claim the interest and will be saving on your power bills. With a correctly sized system, you can pay for your system quite quickly. Contact me if this is something you may be interested in. 0402206700

12.01.2022 Pendant light install.

11.01.2022 LED battens installed under a pergola. All wiring concealed as much as possible with only a small bit of painted corri visible where cables head back into the ceiling space

11.01.2022 As the sun starts to shine, you may be considering solar power again. Although the tariffs have reduced, there is some rebates still available and the appropriately sized system can still help you manage those bills. If you have any questions or would like a free quote, give us a call on 0402206700. No salesman here, the person quoting is the person installing and I can give you realistic performance and savings expectations.

10.01.2022 Sub board installed into new shed, LED battens and power outlets also installed in new shed.

10.01.2022 Todays job was to install these led battens and led down lights into this pergola. Again as much as possible concealed.

10.01.2022 Went and had a look at this solar system today as it was not working. The inverter was coming up with a fault but I had no inverter manual to see what the fault code meant. Manage to find it on the net and it was saying grid voltage was too low though it was fine when measured with a multi meter. Did some more searching and it appears the importer has gone into receivership and the Chinese company doesnt want to know about it. It was advised that they replace the inverter with a reputable brand although there was a business in Sydney claiming they could repair some faults. Make sure you do a bit of research on any systems you are planning on having installed and if you need your current system checked, give us a call.

10.01.2022 The solar industry is starting to see some exciting new things. On grid battery storage. For those that do not have a good feed in tariff, this may be for you. The ability to be able to store the power you make during the day into batteries and then draw back off that at night reducing the power you need from the grid. This can also be handy in blackouts and most units have the ability for a generator to be connected.

09.01.2022 Discharge testing this week at a power station to determine the condition of their batteries.

09.01.2022 Have been keeping a bit of an eye on the development of solar with battery on grid storage. I will be converting my existing solar system to accept on grid storage in the near future. If anybody has any questions regarding solar or solar with battery storage, feel free to send us a message or call.

06.01.2022 Installation of a DC 110v power system into a substation.

06.01.2022 6.6 Kw system weve just completed. 22 x 300w Jinko panels and a Fronius 5Kw inverter.

05.01.2022 A quality solar install that I am fixing. I dont really know how these people can still be electricians. Not one bit of conduit was glued. Most of the time, cheapest option isnt the best option. Mind the blokes language behind me at the end.

04.01.2022 Attended a solar seminar today with Enphase. Micro inverters are something I havent really looked into in the past. They definitely have some good benefits over string inverters and Enphases monitoring is a great advantage also. Give us a call for any solar or electrical needs.

03.01.2022 Installed this 2.5kw system in Littlehampton today.

02.01.2022 Make sure if you are thinking about solar to get in early an have it installed before the end of June to take advantage of the STC multiplier. This is basically your rebate for installing the system. Also dont be alarmed too much about the reduction in feed in tariff, you can put a larger system up now for the same price of a considerably smaller system this time last year. Also be very cautious of companies offering you a higher feed in tariff and read the fine print before signing.

02.01.2022 I keep seeing adverts about solar panel cleaning. Having clean panels is definitely a good idea but Im curious as to where these people get their information from. A system would have to be extremely dirty to reduce its output by 20 percent. Im not saying dont clean your panels, having clean panels will help you in achieving a high yield but I wouldnt be expecting 20 percent more. We offer cleaning as part of our solar maintenance service as well as complete installations and upgrades.

01.01.2022 These people were having trouble with a stand alone power system and were finding they were needing to run the generator a lot. The batteries had only been replaced a couple of years ago. First thing causing a problem was the trees overhanging the solar array. The next issue was the battery charger, the charger was not set to the correct charging characteristics for the batteries being used. When you dont have grid power to rely on, it is so important to have people with some experience working on these systems. You want to get the most out of your batteries as they are not cheap to replace.
