A lot of parents take this as a sign that their children hate rear facing and switch their seats to forward facing. Unfortunately though, turning the seat around doesn't always fix the problem/s. Here's a list of 18 tips and things to try to get past the screaming phase and help extend rear facing time. ... Some times 1 of these is the 'secret sauce' and other children need a combination... but if you can get through this phase and continue to rear face, I can guarantee your child will be travelling safer (and most times more comfortably). 08.01.2022 Q: Can I add ISOfix straps purchased from Amazon, EBAY, Wish and other online stores with my child’s car safety seat? A: NO!!! Absolutely NOT. No way. ... Never. Hell No. Yeah .. Nah!! Why? They are illegal in Australia for a few reasons: 1. They do not comply with Australian Standards and they are not compatible with Australian design standard vehicles. 2.Only child car safety seats that have been specifically manufactured, crash tested, and certified to the Australian/New Zealand Standard (AS/NZS 1754:2013) with ISOfix fitted as part of manufacturing can be used. Why can’t I find an an ISOfix booster seat? AS/NZS 1754:2013 only allows child car safety seat manufacturers to produce ISOfix compatible rearward and forward facing convertible child car seats for children in 5 or 6 point harnesses and under the age of 4 (so not booster seats, or 0-8yrs seats or 6m-8ys seats) Child car safety seats that use the vehicle seatbelt and top tether strap continue to be available and are just as safe when installed correctly. The reason for introducing the ISOfix compatible system to Australia is not because there are any concerns with the current Australian system of using the adult seatbelt and top tether strap to install child car seats. There is strong evidence that Australian child car seats, which use the top tether and vehicle seatbelt to secure the safety seat to the vehicle, provide excellent protection to children, even in very high severity crashes. The ISOFIX compatible system for Australia provides consumers with greater choice. All AS/NZS 1754 child car seats, whether they are ISOFIX compatible or not, can be installed using the vehicle seatbelt and top tether strap.

06.01.2022 We love doctors and peadiatricians. They take great care of our kids and are filled with tons of knowledge about keeping kids healthy. Most, however, are not CPSTs (Child Passenger Safety Technicians). This week I have heard 2 pieces of incorrect information that 2 different medical professionals told 2 different families. The first told the family to turn their 9 month old to be forward facing in the car because her legs were too long and her hips could get hurt in an acci...dent (there were no other medical conditions). This is a myth. Children are much safer rear facing and the recommendation is to rear face until at least 2 but as long as the limits of your seat allows. The design of a rear facing car safety seat is to provide the best protection to the child’s head and spine. The second told a family that a capsule from 2016 could not be passed on to the expected baby in the family because of wear & tear on the plastic. This is inaccurate. A level of wear and tear is expected, and as long as the capsule is not 10+years old, hasn't been in a crash, and has been stored correctly, there is no reason not to pass it on to your next child! (If the capsule had been excessively damaged, then it would have been a different story) Please make sure to double check any car seat advice with a professional trained in car safety seats. CPSTs go through extensive training and have ongoing education to keep their certification.
