24.01.2022 Some explanation from Jonas about why the Dosetronic is not just any dosing station! Hi guys! Info how Dosetronic works is available at different places, but ...let me summarize some based on FAQ: ALL dosing instructions (and skipping dosing instructions) initiated from Alkatronic (like extra doses etc) will ve performed in those channels in Dosetronic that are in Alkatronic mode. So if you for instance run an ordinary Balling(ALL Balling/dosing regims works as we have 5 channels, so whatever methods or brands you will ALWAYS have 1-2 channels left for other stuff like traces etc) that require 3 pumps, then put pump 1-3 in DT in Alkatronic mode. First of all, the DT of course follows its basic internal schedule that you have done manually. But let us now say that Alkatronic is ready with a dKh that is below the ref val. Then it calculates what to dose extra to correct that dKH, and will send that info to DT that perform that dosing amount, equally, in pump 1-3 with 5 minutes apart(in this example) . This is 100% automatically managed. You will also get an alert of this extra dose, like "Pump 1, dosed 5.5 ml, 17:40 pm". The pump D in Alkatronic will be automatically disabled when using DT. Its not possible to use that at same time as that is a DC motor, and in DT we have high precision steppers. The D pump is anyway good to have,. if you of some reason have no Dosetronic, as a back up. Besides this awesome function, we also have 2 autocorrect algorithms, where Alkatronic based on the dKH info during the day, will autocorrect and auto adjust the basic Balling dosing schedule to get a dKH as stable as possible. This is a complete game changer. For instance, ALL tanks have with time a slowly changing in dKH demand. By activating the autocorrect from time to time, DT will automatically follow the changes over time and automatically changes the dosing schedule. These functions and that we are the only that have 5 steppers, make this to something new:-)

24.01.2022 So I decided to have a play with the new Aquatronica flow sensor. Like any other Aquatronica module and sensor, as soon as I plugged the unit in it was recognized. I was able to rename it easily, and programming it was easy too. I decided to trial a water change sequence which is run everyday, ideal for those who want to do a daily 10% water change. 1st, setup the flow sensor. make sure you have the correct settings for the size unit. Set the water meter type to daily to make... sure the counter is reset every day. Next, program the drain and refill sequence. Once the sequence is saved, insert a water change program using a daily time trigger as the input and the sequence as the output. Simple. The tricky part was stopping the auto topup. Due to the "end-logic" input (00:00 - 23:59h), all I had to do is run a morning and an afternoon topup program, ensuring that during the time the water change program and sequence are running the system does not add any RO water. As with everything in the Aquatronica, you can program in fail-safes and time-overrides so the process does not, for example continually pump more water out.in the system if there is a failure. 18.01.2022 This 120 x 65 x 70cm reef aquarium by Aquaristik-Partner from Lampertheim is illuminated by the Daytime Pendix 100. In order to achieve a nearly flat illumination, the Pendix was equipped with 24 modules. The modules are mixed in colors UBW1:1, SunLike marine and UBRW. The light is controlled by the Daytime SC16.
